Do you remember a past life?

angel art black and white clouds

Have you lived before?

Would you like to be reincarnated?

We cannot be 100% sure that reincarnation exists. It is in some ways comforting to think that after you die, you might come back and get to do some things better than you did before. You might also get the feeling that you really don’t want to do it all again! In any case, you do not get to do the same things exactly as presumably time has moved on.

Reincarnation and Religion

Reincarnation is accepted as part of many Indian and Lebanese religions, including parts of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. It is not necessary to be part of these religions to believe in reincarnation. In some belief systems you will have a rebirth which could be into a different realm. There are 3 good realms, god, demigod and human and three evil realms animals, ghosts and hellish. Your acts in this life will determine your rebirth.

Much seems to depend on Karma and reward with a better life for good deeds and punishment for ignorance and selfishness. When a soul has reached the highest evolved level, then it will no longer need to reincarnate but will focus on helping other souls to evolve. This could be in the form of a spirit guide.

How long does it take to reincarnate?

In many Buddhist traditions it is believed that souls reincarnate within 49 days of death. Whereas others will say that it can take years or hundreds of years before a soul returns. There is a theory that due to free will, the soul will decide which new body to occupy.

After death, it may take time to digest the lessons from this life or there may be a need to go back quickly to make amends or to help someone.

Spirit Contact and Reincarnation

This is a puzzle without an easy answer. If we are able to talk to people who are on the other side, can we still talk to them if they have been reincarnated as someone else? Perhaps we can only contact them if they have not yet been reincarnated or perhaps it is possible to get in touch with reincarnated souls who are now living a new life?

In which case someone could be trying to contact you. Think about this, sometimes when you dream, you may be aware of an alternative life. Do you visit familiar places in dreams that you have never visited? Do you have friends in your dreams who you do not know in this life? They could be symbols or in fact people and places from a past life.

If reincarnation is real, then we have all lived before and perhaps we have family members who are trying to get in touch with us. Is it possible that we can have contact with people from our past lives in our dreams?

Memories of Past Lives

The most prominent research on this is being completed at the University of Virginia. At the department of perceptual studies there have been 50 years of research on reincarnation. Many interviews have been conducted with young children and their families who have memories of a past life.

Many of the children are aged between 2 and 7 years old. They will often be playing and see something that reminds them of a past life. The child will talk about where they lived previously, relationships and often how they died. Most of these children had died suddenly or violently in a past life. The child will often have a birthmark at the site of a past life trauma. These children will often recall their names and family relationships which has made it easier to check the truth of these stories. Many children come back to live in the same geographical area usually within one to two years of their previous death.

This is the most compelling evidence of reincarnation. Some scientists have tried to explain this away as false memories, coaching from parents and vivid imaginations. However when times and dates and names are involved this seems unlikely.

Do you have memories of a past life?

Many people will have a past life recollection, it might be of dying or a memory triggered by an object. Museums are great places to trigger past life memories. Did you experience death? It may have been a bit like Alice in Wonderland falling down the rabbit hole. Perhaps you remember falling? Did you die in a fire or a did you drown? Sometimes the most traumatic previous life experiences will be recalled. Do you think that you were executed?

When you visit old buildings, do you remember being there before? Perhaps you were in a similar space? Does a walk in the woods trigger a previous life experience? Give yourself some time and space and write down what you remember. You may surprise yourself!

Past Life Regression

It is possible to have a past life regression under hypnosis or meditation. There are many interesting documented cases of this and of course much scepticism. Hypnosis can unlock parts of the unconscious mind and may enable healing of past hurts.

Some years ago, I took part in a past life regression hypnosis. I was taken back through my childhood, through the womb and to a past life as a servant in a large country house. I was a wife to a coal miner and had a daughter that died. It was an interesting experience and I am open minded about the truth of it.

The most remarkable part was being in the womb, it was so cramped and I really felt small. The emotions were real too, I had a terrible feeling when my husband was injured and my daughter died. It was very real, the feeling was of powerlessness. The lesson I learned was that I cannot control death and tragedy as much as I want to protect my family.

Criticism of Past Life Regression

Much criticism is made of past life regression because it is said that people get things wrong when they recount their clothes, the voices do not change to the correct speech of the time or their are historical inaccuracies. I am sure that these things are true but not a reason to discount past life regression.

When under hypnosis or in a trance we are still aware of who we are, often our thinking minds interpret what we are seeing so we do not always report exactly what is being experienced without adding a current life filter. In my past life regression, I felt that I was part of a Jane Austen novel because that was the correct period, so it would be possible for this to interfere with my recollection of what happened under hypnosis.

Your Life’s Purpose

This may seem a strange place to write about this but if you believe in reincarnation then you came back here with a mission. What is your mission? Do you want to help people? Are you a healer or a teacher? Do you want to make the world more beautiful with art or music? Are you called to help the poor or to be an advocate for others?

If you are in tune with your purpose then perhaps you will be able to reach the next level in your next incarnation. If you would like a life coaching session to help find your life’s purpose you can reach me here:  Etsy shop.

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Natural Hair Dye

This is my blog about being kind, kind to myself, kind to the planet and kind to others. Life is a journey and I am working on becoming a better person.

At my age, my roots become grey or white every few weeks. I am still at the salt and pepper stage and I do not believe that my hair colour would be flattering if left to it's own devices. This means that every month I dye my hair. I am uncomfortable using chemicals in my hair so I switched to Mehandi.com there are a variety of kits for dyeing hair of all types and colours using ground up plant leaves. The company has expanded it's range and now includes products for African hair.

I originally just used henna on my hair but I found that my hair became darker each time I dyed it. The problem with henna is that once it is on your hair it seems to be impossible to lighten it. If you bleach it, the colour turns orange! I learned to just dye my roots so that the colour does not darken, henna does not fade.

The wonderful thing about natural hair dye is that it makes your hair thick and shiny which is a definite plus. I had been dyeing my hair a vibrant red which gave me red highlights through my grey section but I have switched to a dark blonde mix and I am trying to decide which I prefer. The great thing about hair kits from Mehandi.com is that if you are only dyeing your roots monthly, the kits last for months.

I prepare the dye the day before use because it needs to sit for 6-8 hours. I use a brush to put the dye on my roots. I leave the dye on all night and sleep in a plastic shower cap and head scarf, very glamorous! I then take two baths in the morning to wash the dye out, it is a bit like mud in the hair and very mucky. I then use a conventional conditioner to detangle the hair.

My hair feels soft, shiny and strong!

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Gardening for birds and squirrels

We are almost half was through January and I have not seriously attempted to garden yet. If the temperature is below 60 degrees F I am unlikely to do so. Despite this, I like to feed the birds especially when the weather is cool. I have feeders in the front and back gardens with wild bird seed and black sunflower seed. I have been doing battle with the squirrels who even with a squirrel baffle have gymnastically managed to vault over the baffle to get to the sunflower seed.

There is a squirrels' dray in the tree in the back garden so I am inundated with small squirrels chasing each other from branch to branch. I allow them access to the wild bird seed feeder. Last weekend I decided to be kind and buy a squirrel cake, it cost me about $6 but I thought it would last for about 2 weeks. After only 4 days, I came home to find that the cake holder was on the ground and the cake had been pulled apart, the squirrels had finished everything in less than a week. My kind squirrel budget will not be replenished for weeks!

The art of kind gardening is an evolving process around my home. I want to encourage birds, butterflies and bees and not harm the ground water by using any chemicals. I am happy with my front garden that has a mixture of bamboo clumps surrounded by mulch. This is a low maintenance garden, no mowing, no nasty chemicals and no wasted water. The back garden still has a green area, I am not going to call it a lawn as it is an area of weeds or wild plants that is occasionally mown. I am not happy with this a mowing is not a natural activity and who wants to waste time with that!

I do no want to mulch the back garden because it prevents the wildflowers from growing and these are needed by our pollinators the butterflies and bees. I have tired growing vegetables but so far have managed to harvest one red pepper! I am thinking of letting the green area grow and perhaps adding a mulch pathway or stepping stones so that I can still access all areas of the garden if it gets too wild.

My current plan for kind gardening is to feed the birds, placate the squirrels, let the wildflowers grow and keep the garden natural but accessible.

A Year of Living Kindly - The Kind Woman Blog - Introduction

I haven't always been kind, I have been selfish, self centred and ignored facts that were uncomfortable or inconvenient, this year I want to change all of that. I describe myself as a work in progress, I know that I will not always do the right thing but this year will be an adventure to see which things I can get right. When I talk about being kind, it means a multitude of things, being kind to the planet, taking care of the environment, being kind to animals, being kind and understanding of others, being kind to myself, taking care of my mind and body so that I can be a better happier person.

I made a list of things that I should do to be healthier, happier, more creative and more responsible to future generations who will inherit this planet. Today was a tidy up, preparation day, where I cleaned the house, decluttered some rooms, made a pile of things to give to charity and tidied up the garage.

I decided to make a craft room in the garage, I like painting and dyeing clothes and I keep all of my materials out in the garage. The problem with this is that I rarely venture into the garage because it is cold in winter and too hot in summer, there are also cobwebs and dust. So what does cleaning the garage have to do with being kind? If I can access all of my forgotten art materials perhaps I will be moved to be more creative and dye some old clothes, make some cushion covers or up-cycle some household knick-knacks. This I would classify as being kind to my creative soul.

Step one was to make a pile of stuff for goodwill, a pile of trash and a pile of stuff to keep and organise. I unrolled an old rug, organised some shelves, cleaned off an old desk and made some make shift curtains for one of the windows. To make cheap curtains, I used some old fabric and purchased some shower hooks with clips to attach to the fabric. I then went into the garden and cut a piece of bamboo to use as a curtain rod. There were several nails above the windows so I placed the pole above this and now I have curtains in my garage and it is a lot more cosy and user friendly.

The next step is to actually go into the garage and do some crafting - I might also paint the walls as that is not my favourite shade of green!

I started writing this blog in 2018 since that time, I have moved to England where I continue to seek out ways of protecting the planet. It is now 2020 and we are in lockdown for COVID 19. I am starting to feel a shift in people and more interest in kindness and helping others. I hope to add some new products and ideas to this blog in the future.

Thanks for reading -be kind!

Life's Journeys - Daily Meditation

The first time I experienced meditation was through a yoga class more than 30 years ago. I enjoyed practicing yoga, but the best part was always the calm and relaxing meditation time at the end of class. I would practice a little at home but it was never a habit and I didn't think that meditating was going to be important to me later on.

Over the years, I took classes in psychic development and self hypnosis and was able to refine my practice through guided meditation and classes. I also purchased several CD's to learn more about meditation. I used to get upset with myself for not being able to focus and for thinking about mundane things during practice such as shopping lists but now I am able to control these things with ease. I recognise my thoughts and let them drift away like clouds in the air.

My latest experience of meditation is daily practice, I spend some time sitting cross legged under a pyramid of bamboo sticks. I find that the pyramid gives me energy and adds extra power to my thoughts, it helps me to be more effective. I never thought that meditation would be an important part of my life but it gives me a refined focus and allows me to maintain direction and plan ahead.

When life is not going to plan and you are looking for a way to relax, meditation can be a cure without the side effects of drugs and alcohol. You learn to take control of your life and your thought patterns and find solutions through mindfulness.

You don't always have to have a set direction in life, sometimes life provides you with nice surprises like meditation. You have an amazing mind and infinite power to create your world, experience meditation to enrich your experiences.

Life's Journey's - quitting drinking

I had my first sip of alcohol when I was about 10 years old, my parents subscribed to the theory that introducing children to alcohol young would mean that we would develop a tolerance for it and be less likely to be drunken delinquents. Early on we just drank cider, shandy on Sundays and sherry at Christmas under the watchful eyes of my parents. It still made me feel drunk.

Despite the way it sounds, my parents were strict, at least compared to the parents of my friends, I was not allowed to go to clubs at sixteen or to go on dates with my peers. My reaction was of course to go out drinking anyway, not at night but during the day. I attended at technical college from the age of 16-18 and so was free to attend classes and take breaks between classes. Growing up near the beach meant that there were many bars and so most lunch times I would go out with my friends for a lager and lime.

College of course was a further haze of alcohol and the place where I learned that I could not hold my drink. Alcohol allowed me to be the extrovert and risk taker that lurked somewhere deep inside my small introverted self. I can blame my drinking for numerous dubious situations that I found myself in although fortunately I survived relatively unscathed.

I married a drinker who drank heavily every single night and who regularly became abusive and difficult to deal with. In comparison I was not a heavy drinker and it took me over 20 years to admit that I had married an alcoholic and was actually pretty miserable.

I got divorced but continued to have a drink every night. I still wanted to go out and drink and meet a new man and I still felt that alcohol allowed me to be more sociable. I would fret about drinking and driving laws and blame them for my inability to go out and have fun.

Years passed, I would sit at work and look forward to going home and having a glass of wine,  the highlight of my day. I would fantasise about the condensation on my wine glass and gripping the stem with that first sip of cool white wine.  I was drinking just a couple of bottles of wine a week. However, I started to hear reports about how drinking even moderately could cause dementia in later life and as later life was quickly approaching I decided to quit drinking.

Quitting drinking was easy for me, although I really enjoyed drinking, I didn't think that quitting was permanent, I just stopped buying it and replaced my wine with coffee, tea and sometimes ginger beer. I needed to drink something while watching tv. I feel so much better, less headaches, less dehydration and my interest in hanging out in bars has totally gone away. Why would I want to go to a bar and meet another alcoholic?  Life is a journey, and you can take positive steps to quit drinking, when the time is right for you.

Kind Woman!

People who know me will understand why I have included the exclamation mark in the title. I am definitely a work in progress to becoming wise. What I do have, is a lot of experience. I have worked in many different fields, emigrated twice, been married and divorced once, been a mother twice and I am currently a carer. I am an intuitive person and I like to help people and the planet so some of my blog posts are about that. My latest thought was to develop a 'Carers Anonymous' group but that has not come to fruition yet.

Like most sensitive people I am also very interested in the environment, being kind to the planet and being kind to those around me, you will also find here my kind woman blog, where I attempt to be kind to the planet, to others and to myself.

Life's Journeys - Becoming Vegan

I think if I had been given the choice as a small child, I would always have been vegan. I could never square away the idea in my mind that the yummy meat I was eating came from the killing of a poor defenceless animal. I remember saying to my father how much I liked eating lamb. I watched the pretty little lambs frolicking around in the meadow and somehow, it never tasted the same. I really liked the mint sauce, mint and vinegar that was on the meat, not the meat at all.

Years later I was living in Tunisia and I remember being upset when I saw animals being slaughtered on the edge of the road. My friend pointed out that what we do is much worse, driving terrified animals for miles with no food or drink and then letting them watch while their companions are killed. How is that better?

Firstly I became vegetarian, I could still enjoy eggs and cheese.  I discovered that I was intolerant to milk, it always made my nose run so quitting was a good idea.  I then discovered that even free range chickens have their beaks broken and are exhausted from producing eggs that they are not allowed to hatch.  Dairy cows have young that are not allowed to drink their mothers milk because apparently we need it more. Young males are slaughtered young and females die young exhausted by milk production. I learned this from visiting a rescue farm where animals are saved from slaughter.

Vegan became the only option and whenever I think that I want meat, I just think of the suffering animals and the dead flesh that I would be consuming and allowing to fester in my gut.

Let's face it, most of us don't even like to eat dead flesh we disguise it with smoke flavour, hot sauce, ketchup, salsa, mustard, relish, anything to make it taste good.  Big animals like cows survive on a vegan diet, I think that I can too!

Remember life is a journey and it takes a series of small steps to reach your destination, who knows what is next? Could vegan be for you?

How to Survive an Ugly Boss

Unfortunately, we all have times when we work for someone who is negative. It doesn't matter how well you do your job, they are going to criticise and belittle you. They may be drunk on power, lacking in confidence or just miserable people but you will never please them. They storm over to your desk and you have to drop everything, they demand that you work overtime when it is not necessary and then they try to take over your personal life by demanding extra hours. The days of slavery are over and you do not have to suffer through this abuse.

Many of us are feeling the pinch rising prices and pay checks that do not keep up, billionaires gloating and lording it over us and then you have to deal with this annoying tick bite of a person every day!! You cannot use tweezers to rid yourself of them and ignoring them is probably not the best plan. The answer is to be super organised and to answer them slowly when they make requests of you. They rule by bullying and you are not going to get anywhere by arguing with this person.

Have confidence, you know what you are doing despite the petty put downs and ridiculous games. Take a deep breath and meditate, you can do this. Let this person self combust, whatever their problem is, you are not the cause.

Happy days!

The End or a New Beginning?

Today is September 24th 2017, the day after the world, (according to some)was due to end.  I am not ready to heave a sigh of relief yet, this feels like an apocalyptic time, enormous hurricanes, devastating earthquakes, gigantic volcanoes that are ready to erupt and we have the threat of nuclear war. There are writings in "Revelations" in the bible, stories from the Mayans and astronomical messages from the pyramids of Giza telling us that this is the time of change. A few weeks ago, there was a giant asteroid that narrowly missed the earth and now we have the tale of Niburu the hidden planet that was due to hit earth yesterday, what is going on?

You may take the view that this is just a lot of hot air, there is no global warming, we can abuse the planet to make money with no consequences and that this end of the world talk is just more of millennial type hysteria. What if this is wrong? Who provides us with the information that we listen to? Who is trying to control our thoughts and why? My motivation for writing this is solution based, I love our beautiful planet; we are just guests here.

I have been trying to make sense of what is happening in the world and asking a bunch of questions.

  1. Large hurricanes are caused by warm sea temperatures so why are the seas so warm?

The planet is getting hotter, there is a great deal of scientific evidence to support this, https://www.yaleclimateconnections.org/2017/04/worrisome-first-quarter-of-2017-climate-trends/

Are we causing the planet to heat up? Carbon dioxide is increasing along with global temperatures, much of the increase in carbon dioxide is due to man's activities on earth. http://www.arcticsystem.no/en/outsideworld/climate/warmer-climate.html

Of course there could be additional outside factors that are causing global warming, it could be cyclical but even so something causes a cycle to happen. In the past solar activity caused the plant to warm and cool but the sun's rays have not become stronger this time around, we have upset the chemistry in the greenhouse and are now suffering the consequences. Solar Activity

Warming seas are also making the ice caps melt, one of the largest icebergs ever broke off antarctic this year: largest iceberg

2. Why do earthquakes and volcanoes often happen together?

We are seeing a large number of earthquakes around the world caused by moving tectonic plates, volcanoes are often also situated on fault lines and so the likelihood of having volcanic eruptions is increasing. There have been many warnings this week around the world about increased volcanic and seismic activity.

We also know that large storms can cause earthquakes, the increased water flow puts stress on the rocks and can cause movement, Storm related earthquakes

3. Do nuclear tests cause earthquakes?

We have heard in the news this week that nuclear testing my have caused an earthquake in North Korea, Nuclear test may have caused an earthquake . My thought is that we should not be surprised by this, every action has a consequence and the planet at this time is under attack from many sides.

4. What else are we doing to cause earthquakes?

We are continuously assaulting the earth, we are fracking and that is increasing the number of earthquakes we are also pumping wastewater into the ground that is also causing a problem. You will read misleading information on this as there is money to be made in fracking. Fracking and Earthquakes

5. Does the position of the planets cause earthquakes and volcanoes?

This is an old theory that has been difficult to prove, the problem is that in past studies the movement of the sun and moon have been studied but not the effects of a combination of planets. One of my theories to explain what is happening with the planet at this time is that the unique planet line up that we have at this moment is causing earthquakes and volcanoes to erupt. This is the planet line up that causes huge problems for the earth as predicted in the bible, by the ancient Egyptians and the Mayans. Astronomical tidal forces and earthquakes

There is also research to suggest that underwater volcanoes do erupt in response to changes in tides and therefore the moon does effect volcanic eruptions as do sea levels. Sea floor eruptions and the tide

6. Why might the sun, moon and stars be lessened by one third?

This information comes from the book of Revelations 8:12. If we are truly in the end times or the new beginning then this is about to happen. The most obvious reason that this would happen would be if there are enormous volcanic eruptions that block out the light of the sun, the moon and the stars. There could also be a planet collision or nuclear war. Revelation 8:12

7. What does Niburu mean?

This is the name of the planet also known as planet X that was supposed to collide with earth on September 23rd 2017. The word means a crossing or a point of transition. It could be an unknown planet crossing our path or a transition to a better or worse time in the world, in our thinking or way of life. NASA has confirmed the existence of planet X but states that there is no evidence that it is going to hit earth. NASA planet X. If you believe in astrology the planet could still effect events on earth such as volcanoes, earthquakes and storms by effecting our atmosphere.

8. Are the poles about to flip?

If the poles flip then north becomes south and south becomes north, or there may be a partial pole flip where the poles move to either side of the equator. The earth's poles have flipped many times in the past, the last full reversal was 780,000 years ago. The magnetic field of the earth is decreasing and this may be a sign that a pole flip is due. If the poles flip there could be mass extinctions, huge volcanoes or the loss of satellites, electricity and increased radiation. The earth's magnetism comes from it's liquid core deep beneath the surface, the way the molten iron centre moves is being monitored but as this event has not happened recently it is difficult to predict when a flip may occur. How a flip in the magnetic poles could effect us.

9. Why do we think that if we damage one part of the earth the whole is not effected?

Everything changes, nothing is constant and things will happen to the earth with or without man's interference, however we can keep the sun shining a little longer, keep the water and the air fresher is we learn to live responsibly and to respect our planet. We need to realise the things that are important in life, love, beauty, kindness and respect and turn our backs on the materialistic greed that has caused so much bitterness, hatred and exploitation.

Think of the earth this way, it is a big stone ball, with a liquid core, covered in beautiful oceans, lush forests and green fields. It floats and spins in a gorgeous blue sky under a blazing sun protected from the sun's radiation. At night the moon shines brightly and the stars glimmer in a cool dark sky. Man trashes the earth with bombs, cars, fracking, chemicals, poisons. How can we truly believe that our actions have no consequences? The evidence is there and it is time to wake up and make a transition, we need to love of our planet and respect each other and all living beings so we can find a way to make this a beautiful place for all people, this is our new beginning....

New Year Resolutions

Why you should dance

How to Make Magical New Year's Resolutions!

The holidays are almost over and some of us are snuggling up warm and cozy indoors planning the year ahead.  I make resolutions every year and I am pretty good at keeping them so here are a few things to think about when you make that list, if it is indeed a list.

1. Brainstorm some ideas - what do you want to change or improve on in your life?  I was writing the same goals every year until I tried this.

Ideas for brainstorming  new years resolutions:

A tarot card reading

Painting on a Buddha board with water,

Abstract drawing,

Opening an atlas and pointing at places

Reading last years social media posts

Looking at your photos

Thinking about your friends/families lives

Listening to music

Hopefully at least on of these things will start you thinking about what you would like to achieve next year.  You are about to start a new chapter - what would you like it to be about?  Would you read a book about your own life?

2. Write down some categories: work and career, pleasure, love, family, vacation, health and fitness and finances.  You should have one or more goals for each of these.

3. Make your list!

4. How to make your list of resolutions magical.

  • Paint a picture or several pictures of your resolutions and take a photograph .
  • Find a photograph of each resolution and make a vision board
  • Type up your list and use an appropriate photograph as a watermark.
  • Turn your goals into a rap or a mantra and say or sing them over and over.
  • Make a recording of yourself -speaking your resolutions and listen to it daily.
  • Create a dance of your resolutions and feel how your life is improving for the better.
  • Write the list in your best handwriting on some special paper.

5. How to make your list work.

My list is wallpaper on the front of my phone so I look at it 100's of times a day. It is there whenever I want to check my progress or remind myself of my goals.  You could also make a screensaver out of your list. The same advice applies if you sing, dance, hand write or record your resolutions.   It is the repetition that creates the habit of thinking about your resolutions and you will then feel more inclined to continue to work on your goals for the year. You will rewire your brain to achieve the life that you want.  The Super Life! Good luck.

Happy New Year.

Interview Tips

Interview Tips

Some people excel at interviews, they have the confidence and personality to impress an interviewer, whilst others who may be better qualified for a position struggle with nerves.  Here are my tips for overcoming interview nerves.

  1. Be Prepared - do your research, who is the ideal candidate?
  2. Find out about the organisation.
  3. Read online reviews.
  4. Read your application so you can remember the information that you supplied.
  5. Read the requirements of the job so you can show what a good fit you will be for the position.
  6. Write some sample interview questions and practice answering them.
  7. Rehearse your interview with a friend.

Day of Interview

  1. Wear something appropriate for the position that you are applying for
  2. Wear something smarter than you would wear every day.
  3. Create the image of the person that you want to be.
  4. Break in new shoes the day before to make sure that they are comfortable.
  5. If you bought a new skirt make sure that you remove the labels and unpick the tacking stitches if there is a slit.
  6. Check that your undergarments are not visible (unless that is a requirement of the job), and stand in the light to see if your clothes are see through.
  7. Do not display too much flesh and wear hose if necessary.
  8. Be comfortable, wear layers if the climate suggests that you will be too warm or cold.
  9. Do not wear perfume that is too strong as this upsets some people.
  10. Keep yourself hydrated - avoid drinks that will stain if you spill them on your clothes
  11. Nail polish should be fresh if you wear it.
  12. Make up should be appropriate for the position you are applying to.
  13. Hair should be clean and off your face.

Things to help you relax on the way to an interview.

  1. Sing - it doesn't matter what you sing. Singing will relax you and warm up your vocal chords.
  2. Singing - will help you to speak clearly and should put a smile on your face.
  3. Get to the interview early - allow time for every problem you can think of -getting lost, elevators, parking a long way from the building, train strikes, traffic, bad weather.
  4. Eat to give yourself energy - freshen your breath.

Packing you interview bag

  1. I have heard that a flashlight in your bag will help you to find your way.
  2. Carry a lucky charm or some crystals to give you confidence.
  3. Spare copies of your resume.
  4. Pen
  5. Business cards if you have them.
  6. Phone, computer or tablet with contact information for previous jobs and referees.

Interview

  1. Remember, the interviewer is human
  2. I know some people will tell you to imagine the interviewer in their underwear -but be careful of this as you may get distracted wondering what type of underwear they are wearing or if they are wearing it and it could all go very wrong!
  3. Make a friend - try to find some commonality with the interviewer.
  4. Use similar body language to the interviewer
  5. Talk at the same speed as the interviewer, in other words mirror them, this is flattery and everyone likes that.
  6. Touch yourself lightly on the chest and ask who their ideal candidate would be!
  7. Have fun, show that you have a sense of humour -if you have one.
  8. Remember why you are a great candidate for the position
  9. Ask questions and be interested in the job itself -not just the vacations and benefits.
  10. Act as if you are interviewing them - remember you are in high demand and they will be lucky to be working with you.
  11. Use a firm hand shake if hand shaking is required do not be a wet fish.
  12. Find out what the next steps are and when you will receive a decision.
  13. Thank the interviewer, even if the interview was torture - you will have learned something.
  14. If the interviewer is critical of your past experience, count to ten, rephrase what they are saying to you and ask it as a question that would lead to a positive answer or make a statement that will amuse them, sometimes humor can take the sting out of an attack. Be strong.

After the interview

  1. Take a deep breath.
  2. Thank the interviewer -sending an email can work well.
  3. Follow up if you do not hear anything within the allotted time.

Good Luck!

Why you should dance

Why you should......dance!

Spiritual Dancing courtesy of Lonerwolf

Dancing is therapy when you are feeling sad or gloomy, perhaps you are depressed or nervous. Dancing will make you feel better whether you dance to music or to the rhythms in your mind, it might even make you smile. Dancing makes you feel good!

Dancing is good for your health and can increase your fitness, coordination and muscle tone. You can dance at any age, moving to the rhythm, fast or slow, intricate or simple. Dancing is natural.

You can dance alone, in a group or with a partner, at home, at work, at play. Solitary dancing or social dancing, dancing in style or just free style. There are so many groups you can join to learn to dance in a specific way, latin, jazz, tap, modern, ballet, ballroom, belly, pole dance, burlesque, hip hop to name a few. You can pay for lessons or dance for free, you will feel great. All dancing is great!

Dancing builds your confidence,  you feel good and when you feel good you smile. Smiling makes you happy and smiling at someone else will make them happy. So dancing makes the world a better happier place. Keep dancing, keep smiling.

When you go to a club or bar where people are dancing, get up and join in the fun.  Your smile is the most important part of the dance! Dancing equals fun!

You can take dance seriously and it is always great to learn a new skill or improve on a skill but remember everyone can dance. Babies can dance, teens can dance, adults can dance and old people can dance, who knows maybe even aliens can dance!

Is work supposed to be hard?

Thomas-Edison-Famous-Quotes
http://pulpypics.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Thomas-Edison-Famous-Quotes.jpg

There are so many confusing messages out there, "challenge is good", "the best things in life are worth waiting for", " the harder you work the greater the return"' and then the opposite point of view; "work should not be hard; if you are doing the right thing it should come naturally to you".

Can-stock-photo_csp18547095Work Smart

In school we are taught to work hard to overcome challenges and endure some painfully irrelevant seeming classes. At work we are encouraged to work long hours and spend little time with our families with detrimental results. Finally managers in the US are starting to realise that a productive employee is well rested, takes vacations and takes care of their family needs. Broken relationships make employees distracted and unhappy, sick employees infect others, stressed employees lose creativity, resent their jobs and cause workplace friction. You would think that with so many unemployed there would be a farer way to divide the work and the wealth of the country more equitably to reduce crime and create incentives.

Math Problem

It is sad to hear that people with Masters degrees are barely able to make ends meet in an economy that rewards the rich. It is the elite who pay corrupt politicians for their votes on whatever will create more wealth for the already rich, there is no such thing as the public good.Politicians should be public servants who serve the majority of the people and protect them from corrupt businesses and unhealthy products instead of brain washing them and distracting them with irrelevant sound bites worthy of a school yard brawl. This is a system that is so unbalanced that the man in the street has no power, his vote might not even get counted.

Student Debt

So we are all supposed to work hard, but for what? What do we achieve when we devote our lives to something? Sometimes we create great things, invent things, make music, art or write but what if we are just slaves in a call center or a fast food restaurant?

Living Wage

The answer is of course that we should work for ourselves, it should be easy, we just have to please ourselves. If you need to work in a minimum wage job to pay those bills; make sure that you save some energy and some time for yourself - do the things that come easily to you and enjoy every moment. We can hope one day that those in power will see that decent hard working people deserve a living wage but until then we can be at peace with our purpose on earth and create the things that we need to be free of a system that failed us.

HAPPYHappy

Work should not be hard; it should be joyous and satisfying and challenging and gratifying.

Is it time to fix the vision board?

Buchheit-vision-board-2011

I love this vision board!

Vision boards are often created, around January 1st each year, we make our new year resolutions and some of us create our vision boards for the coming year. I paint my vision board; it is not a work of art, as I paint like a child but it does represent the things that I am working on for that year.

Bf58ebba795a918aa2829a32193c89d2
It looks something like this!

Now we are in May and I am wondering if I need to update my board a little, boards work differently for different people, I see my painted images but when I visualise in my head, I see the true picture sometimes it is like a photograph in my head. I see the new home that I am going to buy, the kitchen, the bedroom, the backyard and the neighbourhood,  I feel the sun on my arms as I sit in my new backyard, listening to the wind chimes and reading a book. I walk down the lane to my new neighbourhood. It is more than a vision it is an experience from all of my senses. I know I am going to buy this house, I don't know when or exactly where it is; I have some idea but I feel I am getting closer to it each day.

To make a vision board work; you need to believe in what you have created, be excited about the achievement of your goal and carry that expectation with you, the Universe is listening to you. Experience your vision with all of your senses not just your eyes, hear the sound of your new car, smell that new car smell, feel the seats, imagine how if will look outside of your house, be happy that you achieved your goal.

Get-up-early-and-run
Working on your Goal - Get up early and run!

You may need to fix the vision board if your goals have changed but if not; make it more than a vision board, turn it into a feeling board, have the expectation of success, the joy of achievement and intend to succeed. It works! Please let me know if it works for you! I love success stories.

A Blessing in Disguise?

Tumblr_lbf0c1DYVk1qahvtyo1_500

Whenever something goes wrong in my life; which does happen occasionally despite being the "super life coach", my friends always tell me that it might be "a blessing in disguise", this has happened fairly often recently so much so that I was prompted to look up the origin of this expression. What I found was this quote by Oscar Wilde "What seems to us bitter trials are often blessings in disguise", beautifully written.

Bastet
Protection from Bastet

A blessing is referring to your deity's favour and protection, so a blessing in disguise would mean that you are no longer favored or protected, at least at first glance; but perhaps some good will come out of this. It sounds pretty bad, like some sort of punishment from the almighty but you are going to be blessed in the end. How you feel about this of course really depends on how bad the "punishment" was and how quickly you can recover.

601167_578418775502187_1087634583_n
Inspirational Comment

One of my favourite expressions is; "you cannot change the past, you can only change the future". As humans we can learn from experience but we must kiss the past goodbye and move on to better things. You can definitely change your future and you can make sure that you do not make the same mistakes again; this perfect quote attributed to Albert Einstein,"Insanity: doing the same thing over again and expecting different results". It may have taken a genius to think of this but it is so true!

Keep-calm-and-learn-the-definition-of-insanity
Keep Calm

There is hope in this message; when bad things have occurred whether or not they were punishment from on high, bad luck or a repetition of past mistakes; it's time to just learn, change and move on to a better and brighter future, enlightened by past experiences and renewed by the new challenges ahead.

Faking it!

Well, it's almost 2013 and at one time I wasn't sure that we were going to make it! I can feel so many positive changes in the air that although 13 is not my favourite number, I think this could be a great year ahead. Most people do not like to think about faking anything, it sounds false, I know that I like to be true and straight and honest, so let me explain why sometimes it might be necessary to fake it.

You-create-your-own-reality1

If you believe that you create your own reality, but you look around you and things are not the way that you want them to be, is it better to be sad or mad or is it better to make a new reality? Why not be happy even if you have to fake it because if this theory works you will soon be happy in reality.

Self-Confidence

Think about going to work and acting as if you have the job that you really want, going to an interview as if you already have the job, being in a relationship that is nearly perfect. What do we gain by being negative and unhappy? More negativity and unhappiness.

Aim-for-being-better

http://www.findlifesrhythm.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/aim-for-being-better.jpg

At work we talk about being better every day, if you are not feeling better act as if you are because you will be better a little at a time. At the end of a year you will be a lot better than you were. I enjoy bellydance but I am not a good dancer, I practice hard each day and I get better, I get better slowly, very slowly but I know that I am getting better. When I dance I think about faking it, acting as if I know what I am doing because one day, I will know how to dance.

Children-dancing
http://02c92b0.netsolhost.com/image/children-dancing.gif

Do you remember when you were a small child and you would just do things, it didn't matter how well you did them, you were just happy to be there, whether it was singing, dancing, art or sports. In your mind you were good and that is all that mattered. When I say fake it, I mean that you should just act as if you already know what you are doing. It is a grown-up version of "Let's pretend", if you pretend long enough and work hard enough, your success will be real.

Mask
http://behance.vo.llnwd.net/profiles9/927947/projects/3561487/319f4129a4831496b3a84473f3a38561.jpg

Some years ago, when I was consulting with my own life coach, he suggested that I create a mask for myself, a successful person of my own creation who would go to work for me and do a really good job so even when I was not feeling confident at work my mask was able to do everything really well. My mask was really successful and strong and smart and confident and after a while I became that way too! That is faking it! It works, give it a try!

Mystic Polly - Dream Interpreter, Tarot Card Reader and Kind Woman!

What does my dream mean?

My mother always said that I had a vivid imagination  - as a little girl, I was always seeing and hearing things that other people were not aware of. I did see things that moved around my room at night, I was scared of the dark and vivid imagination or not, I still believe that some of the things that I saw were "real".

Years and years later, I still see and hear odd things, I have learned to tune in and tune out so that most of the time, I see and hear the same things that everyone else does. It's easier that way. Writing this blog has been a real leap of faith for me and has been many years in the making.

I realise that not everyone thinks the way that I do and that is fine, life would be boring if we were all the same. I have trained with many different teachers in intuitive development which has helped me to interpret the things that I see and hear. I am believe that the brain gives us messages in the form of symbols in our dreams and it is up to us to decipher the deeper message.

Tarot Readings!

I started reading tarot cards many years ago when I was in college, I was studying business but my real interest has always been in psychology, astrology, tarot and dreams. I waited a long time to pursue tarot reading professionally. I do not understand how tarot cards work or why they work. I do not believe that you need special powers to read the cards but experience and an understanding of the symbols on each card opens the doors to a successful interpretation.

It is a good idea to be in a quiet place to have a tarot reading, to be able to free your mind of distractions and concentrate on an issue that you would like some insight into. Tarot cards can give you insight into situations and things that are happening in your life.

I have been a tarot reader for more than 30 years and will be happy to do a reading for you, the cost is $15 for one question via email using a 3 card spread or $50 per hour for a face to face reading on WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.

To set up a reading click here: Mystic Polly Tarot Reading

Readings are for entertainment only!

Dream Interpretations

I started interpreting dreams when I was a teenager. I always had very detailed dreams and would recount them to my friends. A boyfriend bought me a dream dictionary and I started to delve into interpretation. Unfortunately, I found that many dreams had elements that were contradictory and so I did not get a good understanding of my dream.

I realised that different people have different relationships with dream symbols based on experience, their daily lives and culture. A person who keeps snakes will have a different interpretation of a snake dream to a person who has a fear of snakes.

Dreams may have symbols that are good omens and some are bad omens, understanding the context of the omens will help you to interpret their true meaning for you.

My blog is a series of dreams and interpretations of the elements in each dream to help you to understand how best to interpret your dreams, I am also available to interpret a dream for you.

To set up a dream interpretation click here: Dream Interpretations

I organise the dreams by general subject area rather than alphabetically, if you have a question about a dream symbol please email me.

Kind Woman!

kind woman blog

Finally, I have written a few poems and included some art posts too!

Climb the Mountain

Life as a Mountain

Life is like climbing a mountain;

have to keep going up, up, up

Close to the clouds.

Small rocks  crumble around you,

scatter at your feet

bouncing down the hillside,

a new bed beneath.

Out of breath,  keep going!

Oh so tired,  mind slowing,

Gotta keep your head straight.

Just don't rely on fate.

Unsure of your path, so foggy, got lost?

Where did those sheep come from?

Just keep on going whatever the cost.

Where are you heading?

Is it up or down?

Oh no! Sheep? Where did they come from?

Uncertainty, confusion,

be under no illusion

Just make the weekly promise;

Is same time, same place, same old stuff, right for you?

A Rolling Stone Looking at the View!

A rolling stone gathers no moss; but he does get to see more of the world.

We all make choices every day, do we have the banana smoothie or the decadent fried eggs, bacon and sausage? Do we sit quietly and meditate or watch CSI on TV for the third time?

Every choice has a cost; in experience, in financial terms in emotional terms; so how do we work out which way to go?

My answer is that you should always ask yourself one question.

"How does this choice make me feel?"

If it doesn't feel good, then you ask yourself the second question,

"Is there an alternative that would make me feel better?"

This may sound dangerous; you have to be realistic about those alternatives; are they attainable? The third question is;

"What are the likely consequences of my action or inaction?"

Changing directions is fun, but sometimes you end up in a place or a situation that you did not forsee, so here is another old saying; "Look before you leap", you might land in clover or a cowpat.

Look Before you Leap!

So ask yourself: do you want to be secure; comfortable; stable and good at what you do? Or wild, unpredictable, and free?  Go back to the three important questions and you may find your path -that is if you want to - or you might prefer to run through the undergrowth! It is all about you!

Taking the Exotic Path!

A Better World

If you live in the US; it is very difficult to get away from politics. I am so tired of hearing all the school yard name calling and accusations from one candidate to another.  I keep asking myself "Where are the grown-ups?"; when are we going to get away from all this point scoring and actually talk about the issues? Even during the debates candidates are back stabbing instead of discussing the issues.  Can we please stop all this nonsense?

I was going to write a political piece, but I decided instead to put a few ideas out there to hopefully encourage the grown-ups to come out of hiding and talk about the problems we are all facing.

I am going to list some ideas of things that I think may improve life in the US.  Please read and then make your own lists and brainstorm some original ideas.  Make sure that you are being positive and have the best interests of the people at heart, do not fall prey to greed and selfishness.

This is my Super World!

1. Healthcare for everyone - not health care based on income, equal treatment for all people.  I do believe in a national health service which I had the good fortune of using in England.  Private health care is available for those who can afford it.  Everyone can see a dentist, doctor and optometrist, in a civilised society why would you exclude anyone because they were born poor, had mental problems, were the wrong colour.  The USA is supposed to be a world leader so why would they not take care of their citizens?

2. Schools should be using the international baccalaureate, it is a world class education allowing the students to develop to their fullest potential.  Students who are not academically inclined must be allowed to pursue vocational education by the age of 16, an vocational qualification should be equivalent to a High School diploma. In this way students leave school having succeeded and ready to take their places in the working world. The US benefits from having a highly trained workforce.

3. Unemployment benefits are paid only to those who are willing and ready to work.  Unemployed people must work on Government projects at least 20 hours per week.  This could be any project or community service.  The benefit is that only those who are willing to work will collect, workers may be trained in new skills, the local community benefits and the unemployed are able to network and do something worthwhile with their time.

4. Abolish income tax, in favour of a national sales tax.  Many people are able to avoid paying taxes, this ensures that everyone pays their share. People are taxed on consumption.  Essential items are not taxed, food - except luxury food, basic clothes under a certain price, school books, other items deemed essential.  All other items would be taxed. No tax on savings accounts or investment income as the tax will be paid on consumption.  This would be a much fairer system.

5. Although I am a believer in free markets, we have reached a point where the man in the street is poor and as a result the economy is suffering.  Until pay is increased for the working and middle classes there will be no recovery.  There should either be greater unionisation or a higher minimum wage so that workers are able to be upwardly mobile; without hope and opportunity there is crime, drugs, drinking and despair.  There is a benefit for business owners who sell more products, and make larger profits;  for rich people they will not have to lock themselves away because the streets are so dangerous.  Without a major change of direction the future is going to be dark and dangerous.

6. The Housing crisis: banks must be forced to modify loans for struggling homeowners.  We are in unprecedented times, people need help; not a bunch of rich bankers exploiting the nouveau poor.  Lending has been irresponsible and the banks need to pay for this.  Many people have talked to the banks about modifying the mortgage but the bank wants to charge outrageous fees to do this. Bank fees should be restricted to either 1% of the cost of the deal or to a reasonable flat rate for changing a mortgage; somewhere in the $1500 range.  Loans should be extended to 40 or 50 years if necessary at the original interest rate. The bank will be getting paid a smaller amount over a longer period or will get the money when the property is sold under normal conditions.  This would correct the housing market and enable new people to take out mortgages.  Homeowners who have deliberately not paid the mortgage for months or years should be liable for the back payments, these should be rolled into the mortgage.  There should be a time limit of 12 months as a period on how long a homeowner can stay in a house without making a payment.

7. Mothers should never kill their babies.  What kind of civilised society would allow this?  Abortion should be legal but all mothers should be made to watch an abortion to ensure that they are fully informed about the action they are about to take.  Abortions should be allowed for rape and cases where the child would be extremely deformed in some way.  Counselling should be offered to all mothers in this situation.

8. This country is felony crazy, locking people up and often tarnishing young people for life.  Young people need to be educated and offered a second chance, not just slapped with a felony which will guarantee them a life of problems.  I really believe that the punishment should fit the crime, I do not believe in locking up people who are not a threat to others; it is a waste of resources.  A person who steals, needs to be made to work hard and pay all their money back to the victims of the crime or to the State.  For some crimes a medical solution is required - incarceration should be used for the violent and the dangerous.

Well that is enough from my soap box today.  Please publish your own ideas; everyone can contribute to this debate!!!  Be positive and think about the right thing to do; it may not benefit you directly but it may the the right thing for this country.

Stop abusing the abused...

Hope_in_a_Prison_of_Despair
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/52/Hope_in_a_Prison_of_Despair.jpg

This week all the fuss about Mel Gibson made me really sad. Not only the waste of what was once a good man who seems to have taken a wrong turn but also the messages it sends to people who have suffered from abuse.

Denial-warming-01
http://redstick.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/denial-warming-01.jpg

I listen to talk shows and hear many men and women who talk about people that live in abusive situations, the comment is always, "Well, they should leave", I do not disagree with this, but what I hear is a lot of people who have not suffered saying things like, "I would never let a man treat me like that", "Why on earth would you go back to that?".

What is happening is that the abused person is getting a double or triple dose of abuse, first from the abuser, second from themselves for going back and third from the media and everyone who wishes them well and does not understand the dynamics of the situation.

2557055265_d8d0cd7ea1
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3187/2557055265_d8d0cd7ea1.jpg

There are many reasons why people don't leave an abusive situation.

1. Fear - they have tried to leave and been threatened and or beaten.

2. The children - leaving or taking them is always a problem. We constantly hear that children do better with both of their parents.

3. They do not believe in divorce. - old fashioned but not as uncommon as you think. Some partners are really committed.

4. Love - never under estimate the power of love, the power of forgiveness and the belief that things will get better. Believing that the abuser will never do it again.

5. Denial - when things are going well they are great and it is easy to forget the bad times - until all of a sudden it happens again.

6. Money - some people do not know how they can survive without the partners income, they may have no training or a lack of recent job experience or a poorly paid job that will not support them and the kids.

7. The economy - is this really the right time to voluntarily make yourself homeless?

http://th09.deviantart.net/fs27/300W/i/2008/034/4/2/Love_of_beast_king_by_levineHang.jpg

I would never advocate staying with an abusive partner because things can and often do escalate to a point that can be dangerous. What I am saying is that it we should not blame people that opt to stay in an abusive relationship, life is hard enough.  Self esteem is low and then instead of helping the injured party we are just adding another blow to their confidence.

Selling! Stop trying so hard!

Funny-pictures-salesman-cat-will-not-take-no-for-an-answer
http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/funny-pictures-salesman-cat-will-not-take-no-for-an-answer.jpg

One of the most perplexing things about sales is that sales people are only paid if they sell something, the longer they go without a sale the harder it is to sell. The longer without a sale and the more desperate the situation becomes, the harder the sales person tries to sell,  the more difficult it is to sell.

1670political-pictures-girl-scouts

Selling should be about serving the prospect, making sure that they are getting a product or service that will fit their needs, something that will make the prospect feel good. The sales person is helping the prospect and should remember that it is all about the prospect not about the sales person.

It's all about serving the customer?!

Easy to say and not always so easy to do.

Sales - Choosing the Right Job

Jobhunting

http://savvyconsumer.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/luckyoliver-1127573-medium-job_hunting1.jpg

Job hunting is almost a hobby with me, long before there was a recession or any job insecurity, I liked to scan the help wanted ads to see what was out there. I suffer from versatility - I can do almost anything - except sing in tune or dance in step, but I do not have a particular thing that I must do - except help others.

Sales-Jobs-13
http://www.myfirstsalesjob.com.au/Portals/MyFirstSalesJob/Cartoons/Sales-Jobs-13.jpg

I know I am not alone in this, if you are a salesperson there are so many opportunities out there, but which ones actually pay?  They all do, it's just that you may not be the person who is getting paid. I have failed and succeeded and failed and succeeded at sales. Even when I have failed and could criticise the company for posting a misleading advertisement for a sales position - I have to stand back and look, because somewhere in the office that I was working in, there was a successful sales person who was earning everything promised by the employer.

Dog
http://ih1.redbubble.net/work.301973.9.flat,550x550,075,f.top-dog.jpg

There is always a top dog!

I have read so many books on sales, on positive thinking, on being successful and still I have not managed to be a success at every sales position that I have taken. I have worked over the phone successfully and unsuccessfully - vacation packages, technical education, life coaching, wine; I have sold face to face, successfully and unsuccessfully - timeshare, dating agency, interior design, janitorial services.

Sales_tactics
http://holycrapthatsfunny.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/sales_tactics.png

I listen to the motivational CD's on my way to work, I rehearse my pitch, I sound cheerful and positive, I work hard, I say the right things, I mirror,  I use NLP and yet sometimes I still cannot sell a product. I finally found the answer to my sales woes - Belief!

Thumb_Belief
http://www.positive-thinking-for-you.com/images/Thumb_Belief.jpg

Belief in the product, an unwavering faith that I am selling the customer something that I truly believe in and I truly think that their lives will be better if they purchase my product. I am selling something that is better than the competition, I am going to take better care of my customers than the competition and I will do whatever is necessary to make their experience a happy and positive one. My product is worth the money, my customers are protected and will recommend me to their friends. If I feel that way about a product, I can sell it!

Chocolate
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3299/3203710825_1fe05dba01.jpg

Find a product that you believe in!

How to find the right product for your sales career. Research the company, Google the company name followed by the word "Scam" and get all the dirt before you go to the job interview.  I know this sounds really negative but your reaction to the information will tell you how strong your belief is in that product. Remember, only dissatisfied customers publish their rants online and the bigger the company, the more rants you will read. Some will be entirely justified, nobody gets everything right all of the time. Analyse what the complaints are about, perhaps the company has responded to those complaints and there is no longer and issue.

Go to your interview armed with questions, talk about your concerns, this shows that you are really interested in the job and the company, do not be negative, just be fact finding.

Cool-cartoon-629
http://www.toondoo.com/public/a/r/u/arun/toons/cool-cartoon-629.png

Hmmm! No comment!

If you think the product may be okay - go to the training, did the training manager convince you that the products are great? How do you feel about the product now? If you have learned to love the product now, you are going to succeed at selling it, it is all about passion and emotion.

The great thing about this approach is that no-one at work can be neg you out because you are already informed about the product and you have a balanced view. You know what the product is and how to be a success!

So successful that they will think that you walk on water!

I hope you found this sales tip useful!

Getting goosebumps when you are not cold or scared?

Intuition-bente-hansen
http://fineartamerica.com/images-medium/intuition-bente-hansen.jpg

I am a sensitive person and I know many other sensitive people, when we talk about ideas and people we know we sometimes get goosebumps. I get them at job interviews, when exchanging ideas with people and always when I think about the supernatural - ghost stories, bumps in the night, all that sort of stuff.

Intuition

http://psychicjoystar.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/intuition.jpg

Goosebumps can happen when you are cold and frightened but also happen when you are being intuitive and have come into contact with your divine truth in some way. The stimulus to cold and fear can be proven and reproduced but what about that intuition thing?

Digital-art-fractal-zenergy-holistic-vibration
http://www.nowgasm.com/digital-art-fractal-zenergy-holistic-vibration.jpg

According to this website: http://www.streamsoflight.com/higher.html it can mean that your body has reached a higher vibrational state.

This is one of those questions that I really cannot answer except to say that the web is full of people like myself who believe that those goosebumps are a sign of intuition and getting in touch with your truth. http://www.letyourlifebloom.com/intuition/#tp  All that matters is if it is the truth to you, whether it can be proven or not, who cares? My advice is to follow your truth and if you get the goosebumps and it feels right then you should follow your heart and your intuition.

Dream Interpretations

I started interpreting dreams when I was a teenager. I always had very detailed dreams and would recount them to my friends. One of my boyfriends bought me a dream dictionary and I started to delve into interpretation. Unfortunately, I found that many dreams had elements that were contradictory and so I did not really get a detailed analysis of my dream.

I realised that different people have different relationships with dream symbols based on experience, their daily lives and culture. A person who keeps snakes will have a different interpretation of a snake dream to a person who has a fear of snakes.

Dreams may have symbols that are said to be good omens and then some that are bad omens, understanding the context of the omens will help you to interpret their true meaning for you.

My blog is a series of dreams and interpretations of the elements in each dream to help you to understand how best to interpret your dreams, I am also available to interpret a dream for you. Email me: mysticpolly@yahoo.com, dream interpretations are free!

I organise the dreams by general subject area rather than alphabetically, if you have a question about a dream symbol please email me.

Tarot cards can give you insight into situations and things that are happening around the questioner.

I have been a tarot reader for more than 40 years and will be happy to do a reading for you, the cost is $30 for 30 minutes or $50 per hour.  In UK: £20 for 30 minutes or £35 for 60 minutes. I use PayPal for payment and Skype to complete the reading. Please email me to set this up with your preferred time see below. mysticpolly@yahoo.com. Readings are for entertainment only!

In US Time: I am available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 2pm, 3pm, 4pm or 5pm Eastern Standard Time and Saturday 9 am, 10 am and 11 am EST.

In UK time: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. Saturday 2 pm, 3pm and 4 pm.

Awoken with doubts!!

Insomnia_2
http://easydietoptions.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/insomnia_2.jpg

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night around 3 am or 4 am and a voice in your head tells you that your life isn't working out, that everything is pointless and bad? You are a failure, you are pathetic, you have made bad choices...

20100106doubt
http://zenhabits.net/fotos/20100106doubt.jpg

It isn't fun when that happens, sometimes it feels as if an alien being has taken over your mind and is determined to make you unhappy. Hello, here I am to spoil things again. If you are aware of this creature it gets easier to get back in control, but what do you do meanwhile?

Vivica-Fox-Alter-Ego
http://clearlyfabulous.com/blog3/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Vivica-Fox-Alter-Ego.jpg

If you roam around the internet there are drugs for insomnia, healing programs, CD's of self hypnosis, books, DVD's - there is so much help available - but it will cost you.  It is a shame that suffering from anxiety, self doubt and insomnia is big business.

http://www.stevegjones.com/

I do not have the cure, I have some great CD's from Steve G. Jones, I have some books and lots of herbal remedies. My best solution is to meditate - it is free, you are in control, you decide on your outcomes and what you want from your life. Remember to picture what you want, feel it with emotion and create your life.

Have a wonderful, positive day, and an equally positive night!

How is it that when we are feeling good, we can make all sorts of great stuff happen but when we are feeling down it just gets worse!!  I am having a great weekend, feeling really positive, happy and excited, so I have been writing all the good stuff down so that I will remember it and refer back to it, should I ever have another bad day!

Lost in the woods!

When I was a child, we used to go for long walks in Weston woods, the paths were often muddy and full of holes where people on horseback had been through, there were puddles and sometimes a clearing in the trees where the grass was able to grow. The sun would peak through at these places and the day would feel warmer.

Sometimes we would wander up to the Roman Encampment that is now just several piles of stones where the romans used to live and protect their homes. It is a 2000 year old hill fort where many human remains have been found some of which had met violent deaths. The view from the encampment was beautiful, you could see across sand bay to Wales.

Sometimes we would wander back to the water tower passing "Peak Winna", a pile of stones, where you would throw a stone on the pile and say, "Peak Winna, Peak Winna, give me a good dinner". Historians believe that it was used by fishermen going off to fish in the bay.

Bronze

A skull from the bronze age showing sword wounds - this person did not make it out of the woods!

Well, what does all this reminiscing have to do with living a better life? I think it is about appreciating where we are and what is going on around us now. I often feel as if I am lost in the woods but I know that I can find my way out. Even if I went back to my woods in Weston after being away for 30 years, I could find my way around.

Signs
http://www.majorlycool.com/media/1/20080118-which-way-to-go.jpg

There are signs all around us, showing us which way to go, there are reasons why the phone rings or does not ring, why some things come easily to us and sometimes we have to work hard.  It is all about your belief in yourself and your intentions.

Lost

If you decide to get lost in the woods, it will happen but if you know that you will find a way out and enjoy the journey that will happen too!

Have a great day! Visit Weston-super-mare if you get the chance, it is a very old and interesting place!

Attack of the Xenoestrogens!

Migraine
http://hillaryclarendon.blogspot.com/2009/12/headache-of-having-migraines.html

I have been out of sorts for the last few days, terrible headaches associated with too many xenoestrogens. Xeno as you may know means foreign or alien and estrogens are female sex hormones.

I have been aware of xenoestrogens for the last 3 years and sometimes I do a good job at avoiding them and sometimes, I feel healthy, I relax and become less vigilant.

Xenoestrogens are chemicals that get into your body and the body treats them like human estrogen - giving you more estrogen than is good for you. Problems associated with xenoestrogens are breast cancer, fibroids, ovarian cysts, migraine headaches, acne, low testosterone in men, early onset of male menopause - andropause, man boobs, early onset of puberty.....

http://www.yourdietcoach.com.au/articles/xenoestrogens.html

There are so many conditions related to this, it is a really serious problem and is caused by the chemicals in the food that we eat, the pesticides, hormones in meat, the cosmetics and creams we put on our skin and the laundry detergent and fabric softeners that we use.

Here is a list of things to do to avoid xenoestrogens from Ehow.com:

List of Xenoestrogens

  • Organ chlorines, are one of the largest sources. They are used in pesticides, dry cleaning, bleaching of feminine-hygiene products and the manufacture of plastics.
  • Bisphenol-A, a breakdown of polycarbonate, is used in many plastic bottles. It’s found in the lining of many food cans and juice containers.
  • Avoid heated plastics, plastic lined items and Styrofoam (microwave, oven, sun), as the polycarbonate escapes
  • Use glass, ceramics or steel to store/consume foods and liquids.
  • Choose organic produce. Always go organic with thin skinned fruits and vegetables.
  • Buy hormone-free animal products (eggs, poultry, meats, dairy). To avoid xenoestrogen injections, supplements, bovine growth hormone.
  • A common food preservative in processed foods (BHS: butylated hydroxyanisole).
  • Avoid non-organic coffee and tea.
  • Use reverse-osmosis filter water or purchase your own filter (drinking and bathing).
  • Many creams and cosmetics contain parabens and stearal konium chloride. Choose natural brands (preservatives made with minerals or grapefruit seed extract).
  • Most skin lotions, creams, soaps, shampoo, cosmetics use parabens and phenoxyethanol as a preservative. Substances are 100% absorbed into the body. Go natural or organic.
  • Phthalates are commonly found in baby lotions and powders.
  • Sunscreen can contain benzophenone-3, homosalate, 4-methyl-benzylidene camphor, octal-methoxycinnamate, octal-dimethyl-PABA. Go organic.
  • Many perfumes, deodorizers, air fresheners have artificial scents and contain phthalates.
  • Most perfumes are petrochemically based.
  • Nail polish and removers contain harsh chemicals.
  • The birth control pill contains high concentration of synthetic estrogen. Choose a condom or diaphragm gels without surfactants. Use a condom without spermicidal.
  • Hormone replacement therapy (contains synthetic estrogens) - opt for paraben-free progesterone cream.
  • Research ingredients in your pharmaceuticals.
  • Dryer sheets, fabric softeners and detergents put petrochemicals right on your skin. Use laundry detergent with less chemicals or use white vinegar and baking soda.
  • Be aware of noxious gas that comes from copiers and printers, carpets, fiberboards, new carpets.
  • Do not inhale and protect your skin from: electrical oils, lubricants, adhesive paints, lacquers, solvents, oils, paints, fuel, industrial wastes, packing materials, harsh cleaning products, fertilizers.
  • Become educated on: pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, parathion, plant and fungal estrogens, industrial chemicals (cadmium, lead, mercury), Primpro, DES, Premarin-cemeteries, Tagamet, Marijuana, insecticides (Dieldrin, DDT, Endosulfan, Heptachlor, Lindane/hexachlorocychohexan, methoxychlor), Erythrosine, FD&C Red No 3, Nonylphenol, Polychlorinated biphenyls, Phenosulfothizine, Phthalates, DEHP.
Bottles_sixpack

http://glasswaterbottle.com/images/bottles_sixpack.jpg from Aquasana.

Avoiding xenoestrogens is difficult, one of the most difficult things is avoiding drinks in plastic bottles, if you live in a warm climate and you don't drink soda and you don't want the caffeine in a Starbucks it is difficult to find plain water in a glass bottle.  You would think that knowing about the environmental hazards of plastic bottles people would stop purchasing drinks in them and now being aware that the plastic bottle may give you breast cancer that might work...oh, well being thirsty you have to drink something. This is supposed to be a consumer led market so let's see if we can do something about this?

If you can't avoid all the xenoestrogens there are ways of detoxifying your body, such as eating cabbage and broccoli. See explanation below, follow the link for more:

Phytoestrogens are probably at the top of the list. Why would you want to put MORE estrogen into your body, you ask? It's because phytoestrogens, found in plants, bind to the receptors that xenoestrogens bind to and keep them from accumulating in your body.

These weak estrogens, found in beans, leafy green vegetables and oils, are a very good way to detoxify and remove xenoestrogens naturally. Another good detoxifier and cancer preventive is Indole 3-Carbinol found in cruciferous vegetables like kale, cabbage and broccoli.

You can find Indole 3-Carbinol in capsules, but getting it from vegetables also gives you the rest of the plant's nutrition. It helps your liver remove xenoestrogens and also provides vitamins and minerals that enhance your body's immune system.

Unfortunately, avoiding xenoestrogens is going to cost you money, it's funny how wanting less of something seems to cost more...On Angel's Wings has several estrogen free products: http://www.oawstore.com/

http://www.shefinds.com/files/a037.jpg

The reason to be concerned about skin creams and cosmetics is that everything that goes onto your skin gets absrobed by the body and is not filtered by the liver as food that is ingested internally. The liver filters 90% of what we take orally, it does not filter the products that we put onto our skin.

Eden natural products is a great resource for estrogen free products, one of the most prevalent being parabens that are used as preservatives in all sorts of lotions, shampoos and deodorants. http://www.edennaturalproductsresource.com/?p=1536

Well, I am off for a bowl of cabbage soup - perhaps broccoli and cheese is better....

Surviving a negative attack!!

Deal-negative-people-life-200X200

Perhaps some people are lucky enough never to have a negative thought, never to be hurt by the actions of others, never to feel negative energy around them. If you are one of those amazing people then this blog is not for you!

1264461_f260
http://s2.hubimg.com/u/1264461_f260.jpg

It seems that the more sensitive we are the more we notice bad energy around us. Sometimes it is energy vampires - friends of ours who call us up on the phone, tell us lots of really bad stuff and then hang up feeling better. Meanwhile we are left drained and disillusioned.  Sometimes we are trying to do the right thing by helping someone out but the person is so negative that they see your assistance as a bad thing and they try to drag you down to their level. Then there are the angry and hurt people around us who are in pain and instead of dealing with the problem they spread bad energy around them feeding off each negative situation that they create. Unfortunately these people create more bad feelings because not all of us are able to effectively fight off negative attacks without stooping to their level.

Peace

I hunted around online for ways of dealing with all this negativity. This article is really good if you are dealing with the negative people face to face.

http://www.happypublishing.com/articles/self_improvement/7_ways_to_deal_with_the_negative_people_in_your_life.html

This is my list of ways to deal with negativity:

1. If you are talking to the person, try to make light of what they are saying. If it is ridiculous, repeat it back to them.

2. Ask them why they feel that way.

3. Negative people are often hurt and they have an unresolved conflict - sometimes they just need love - even though fighting seems like a better option.

4. Avoid really negative people - try not to pick up the phone to energy vampires unless you feel able to protect yourself from them.

5. If you walk into a room with a really bad vibe to it, leave!!

6. Make them a cup of tea!

Things to do at home to help you recover:

1. Turn off the TV!

2. Listen to some good music that will lighten your spirit.

3. Meditate

4. Saltwater bath

5. A really good shower, scrubbing all the bad energy off your skin.

6. A nice candlelit bath with bath salts, soft music ( I like Rod Stewart's American songbook)

7. Yoga

8. Sitting in the moonlight.

9.Sitting anywhere near water, fountains, rivers, lakes, ponds, oceans....

10. Sitting outdoors - communing with nature.

11. Have a cup of tea!

What happens if you have a really negative day at work and you can't do these things:

1. Take a "happy walk" around the building

2. Sit crosslegged in your car for a while and meditate

3. Lock the office door and lie down on the floor and stare at the ceilng - it works!

4. Make a cup of tea!

I don't like you but I love you.....

Sounds familiar? Here are some of the lyrics to the song:

Really Got A Hold On Me

Smokey Robinson, Motown

I don't like you, but I love you
Seems I'm always, thinking of you
Oh, oh, oh, you treat me badly
I love you madly
You really got a hold on
You really got a hold on
You really got a hold on
You really got a hold on me

It seems as if this is the universal problem with relationships - we are always falling for people who are no good for us and make us miserable, because of this I have been working with the 50/50 rule for a while now.  It takes an analytical person to look at an emotional problem this way but.....if the person is making you unhappy more than 50% of the time, then it is time to move on...life is short!

Ournewandspiritualworld
http://www.latexsens.com/ournewandspiritualworld.jpg

Of course this is way too simple - you need to ask yourself why you are letting the other person make you unhappy because believe it or not  - you have a choice - you can become immune to destructive negative behaviour.

The first step is to realise that there is a problem. Are you always complaining about the other person - has this been going on for a while? Have they done something that you feel is unforgivable? Is there realistically a chance that things will get better soon?

The second step is to ask yourself - what exactly is it about the relationship that is not working? Is it the other person or is it you? Why are you so unhappy? Which of your needs are not being met? Can you  fix it?

Step three is to take some action. You must take the action - you must change either yourself, your reactions to this person or you should walk away.

Trying to change someone else is a waste of time, but you can change the way that you allow them to treat you. Here is a poem that says it all..by brightsmylesxx

You can't hurt me anymore
Your words
They used to cut so deep
Leaving painful gashes
On my heart
Now they barely leave a mark
Within days, all trace of them is lost.
You can't hurt me anymore.

I won't let you.
I'm done giving you power
control
over me.
I am free.
You can't hurt me anymore.

Maybe there are some scars
Scars of the past
Scars of the things you did
That will haunt me forever.
Maybe the harsh words have been said
And the damage has been done.
I'll live with those scars.
You can't hurt me anymore.

I'll look at them
Those gashes formed by the words you said
And remember
How you used to control me
The things I did
The clothes I wore
The words I spoke
You've lost that power.
You can't hurt me anymore.

It's not easy to walk away
Each step I took
Away from you
Brought the teasing and pain
But I kept on walking
Until I had reached freedom.
You can't hurt me anymore.

Finally, I've taken off the mask
Of a perfect
happy girl.
I'm through with bottling it all inside.
It's time for me to just be myself
And not let you force me to be someone I'm not
I'm free.
You can't hurt me anymore.

Your words
They used to cut so deep
Leaving painful gashes
On my heart
Now they barely leave a mark
Within days, all trace of them is lost.
You can't hurt me anymore.

I won't let you.
I'm done giving you power
control
over me.
I am free.
I am free.
I am free.
And you can't hurt me
anymore.

Try it, it works!
