Dream Meaning - Dreaming about Pie, Dreaming about an Explosion

What does my dream mean?

This is my dream interpretation blog, where I describe a dream and interpret each element to produce a dream meaning.  Here is my dream interpretation blog. In today's dream the dreamer is eating a piece of blueberry pie, she is enjoying the pie but at the same time she is waiting for an explosion outside.

Dreaming about pie is usually a good symbol, if you are having your slice of pie, it means that you are getting the rewards for your efforts. If the pie was good then you are well rewarded but if the pie was bad then you are either not working hard enough or you are not being treated fairly at work and are not receiving what you deserve.

Making a pie is a sign that you are preparing to enjoy the harvest of your hard work. Watching others eat pie means that you are either sharing too much of your wealth or you are not being rewarded for your work.

To drop a pie on the floor shows that your efforts are being wasted by carelessness on your part. To burn a pie shows that you are taking too long about completing a task and time will run out before you are ready to complete it.

Dreaming about explosions: explosions are a sign of an outburst of some kind, it could be emotional, like a temper tantrum, it can be devastating. Explosions can also be a way of clearing away old things so that new ones can be built. If you set the explosion then you are the one with repressed emotions that you need to express. If someone else set the explosion and you are not happy about it, then you need to be careful about who you are hanging out with because their issues are going to effect you in a dramatic way.

If you hear an explosion in the distance then, people around you are going to have upheavals of a dramatic or emotional type. If you are expecting an explosion, then you are aware of a dramatic event that is going to happen around you.

In today's dream the lady is enjoying her share of the pie but she knows that something dramatic is going to happen in her environment, she is going to enjoy her rewards while she still is able to do so.

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Plastic Packaging

This is my blog about living kindly, being kind to myself, kind to the planet and kind to others. Life is a journey and I do not always get it right!

One of my goals in my "year of living kindly' was to be more eco aware and to cut down on the amount of plastic packaging that I use and also incidentally on the number of plastic products that I purchase. We all know by now that the oceans are filling up with plastic, plastic does not bio degrade or it takes 1000 years to break down so our plastic use is not sustainable.

Step one is to use re-useable bags when shopping, I am at about 50% on this one. I wish that the US had a law that makes shops charge for plastic bags like the one in the UK, I know everyone would be more motivated to bring bags along. When I first moved over here there were paper bags at the checkout but everyone preferred plastic, so the stores stopped using paper. Please bring them back!

Step two - look around the home and see which products are packaged in plastic, next time you go shopping, try to buy the products in non plastic containers. I am currently working on this, this week I needed toothpaste, I like natural fluoride free products but there are no toothpastes in my local stores that are not in plastic tubes. I visited one of my favourite websites: My Plastic Free Life for ideas and decided to look online. I found a couple of options on Amazon and ordered Taylors Tooth Powder , it is made from charcoal so I will see if it works for me.

I also needed some dish soap and after researching found that baking soda and vinegar are supposed to work well, baking soda comes in a nice cardboard box but the vinegar I have is in a huge plastic bottle, so next time I will hunt for a glass one. I tried using this yesterday and it seemed to clean well.

Laundry soap - I decided to try something natural and opted for Eco Nuts Soap, I have to wait for this to be delivered but I will update you on how well if works. The Eco Nuts are natural berries that produce soap, you place them in a bag in the washing machine and voila you have soap!

I hope my purchases this week, will work well and become a habit saving the earth from many more plastic bottles and tubes. We can change what manufacturers produce and sell by voting with our dollars and supporting smaller businesses that do care about the environment. If we choose natural packaging with minimal printing, recycled paper, burlap sacks, recycled card or tins, we are making a start. If we choose products that are more natural we are saving our bodies from an onslaught of toxic chemicals.

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Competitive Women

This is my blog about living kindly, being kind to myself, kind to the planet and kind to others. Life is a journey and I do not always get it right.

I have noticed that when I hang out with other women who are supposedly my friends they sometimes make really catty remarks. In the past I would have brooded on this for a while and probably bitched about them behind their backs. In my year of being kind, I have decided to take a new approach.

Women see other women as competition, perhaps it is hard wired in our brains from some ancient ancestry, women competing for men, for food, for attention. We have all learned how to flirt, dress up and flutter our eyelashes but at a certain point we have to be much more than this. We need to be strong, self sufficient and intelligent to be successful today.

When a woman sees another woman as successful she usually reacts in one of three ways, she is happy to be around a successful person, she tries to copy the successful person or she competes with them. I recently found happiness by making changes in my life and accepting who I am, I complain less and I feel more confident. I have noticed that some women around me have become competitive, by trying to belittle that things that I do and bolster their own importance.

These women may say random things to make themselves feel better, such as quoting their college GPA, their higher education, the make of their car or their successes at work while demeaning the things that you have achieved, All of the former things are acceptable if the conversation is about education, cars or work but it is weird when you are discussing something else.

How do we cope with these competitive women who make us feel bad?  Realize that they are feeling jealous of you so the best thing you can do is say "thank you'. You may not say it aloud but you should be thankful for all the success and happiness that you have. The other ladies still need to do some work so that they will feel better about themselves. We are all different with different skills and different interests let's celebrate our diversity and enjoy each others company. We cannot change others we can only change the way that we react to competition so let's all be friends and say 'thank you" and appreciate each other.

Living with an Addict - How to Avoid Becoming an Enabler

A recent study quoted in USA Today from the Surgeon General estimated that 1 in 7 people in the US will be suffering from some sort of substance addiction. There are many other types of addiction gambling, sexual addiction and compulsive lying. With this is mind many people who are not addicts themselves will be living with or interacting with an addict. When the addict is a loved one we want to do everything that we can to help them.

Loving an addict can often turn the unsuspecting into an "enabler". If someone we care about is in trouble, needs money or is in danger of losing their job or career, an enabler will go out of their way to protect the addict. It is a natural instinct to protect those that we love. You may be the child of an addict suffering from physical or verbal abuse, afraid to ask your friends to meet your parent, you may be the spouse of an addict fooling yourself into thinking that the sober person who wakes up with you in the morning loves you enough to quit their habit.

As an enabler, you give money to the addict, make excuses for their behaviour, lie to your friends and family and sometimes isolate yourself. You may feel guilty about the addiction and blame yourself for their behaviour and you sacrifice yourself to make them happy.

STOP! Stop enabling, stop giving them money, let them lose their job, let them be embarrassed, let them clean up their own mess. You may think you are being kind by helping them but you are in reality exacerbating the problem and allowing it to go on for longer. The addict may never seek help but if you are enabling the behavior then their addiction becomes acceptable and they are less likely to seek professional assistance.

How do you stop being an enabler? The important thing is to set some rules, ask yourself what you will or will not do for the addict.

Here are some potential rules, it is up to you to decide which ones would work for you.

  1. The addict cleans up their own mess.
  2. You tape or record the addicts worst behaviour to show them later on, this is not a good idea if they are violent.
  3. You avoid conflict with the addict when they are under the influence.
  4. You avoid contact with the addict at times when you know they are exhibiting unsociable behaviour.
  5. If the addict misses work they must call in themselves.
  6. You continue to live your life and socialise with your friends and family even if the addict does not approve.
  7. The addict pays for their own addiction, they do not need money from you.
  8. If the addict asks for professional help, you encourage them to follow through with it.

Remember the best way to be kind to an addict is to not to be too kind.  Do not sacrifice yourself and your own happiness for an addict because you will make their behaviour worse. If you love an addict you will help them to help themselves by doing less for them.

Functioning Not Thriving - How to Recover from a Loss

In life there are many times when things do not go to plan and sometimes we are left feeling sad and unhappy but we still carry on as if everything is fine.  We think we are coping but in reality we are just functioning. There are many behaviours that we exhibit when we are in this state, I have listed a few below.

  1. Self medicating - taking prescription or non-prescription drugs to make ourselves feel better.
  2. Drinking - not necessarily excessive drinking but often daily drinking to help us to relax, sleep or forget.
  3. Inappropriate relationships -getting involved with people who are unavailable emotionally or already married.
  4. Job hopping - changing jobs often, sometimes voluntarily and sometimes not.
  5. Careless personal hygiene.
  6. Watching hours of TV, playing video games excessively causing neglect of other duties.
  7. Gambling that has a negative impact on the quality of life.
  8. Poor eating habits, eating quantities of unhealthy foods, such as bingeing on chocolate.
  9. Finances - poor money management.

I know this is a long list of problems but they can all be experienced after the loss of a loved one, the break up of a relationship, loneliness, isolation or bankruptcy to name a few situations.

If you are exhibiting these behaviours you may feel fine and you may be functioning but somewhere inside there is a person inside you who is hurting. If your goal is to feel better, it is necessary to find a way to gain back control of yourself so that you will feel better. You may not realise that something is wrong but you know that you can do better.

Life is a labyrinth of roads, some dark and some light. The light roads are the best.

How do you regain control of yourself and your life?

Replace your negative behaviours one by one, with something else. Sometimes it can take a while to be able to do this. It is said that if you get a divorce after 10 years of marriage it will take 5 years to recover, This is a long time but I can say from personal experience that there is some truth in this.

Here is my list of replacement behaviours that will make you feel better.

  1. Sing whenever you can.
  2. Dance -take dance lessons if you need them.
  3. Learn a new skill such as to play an instrument.
  4. Take up art, painting or pottery are good ones to start with.
  5. Take up some form of exercise -yoga is great for mind and body.
  6. Go back to school to learn a new skill or train for a new career.
  7. Take as many vacations as possible.
  8. Learn to cook some new healthy recipes.
  9. Replace the alcohol with some other beverage that is less harmful.
  10. Join a club where you can meet other people with similar interests and ideas.
  11. Find a time each week to work on a budget and savings plan.
  12. Find a life coach to keep you motivated and to pursue your new tasks and goals.

Change may happen slowly but with determination it is possible to turn the situation around and thrive once more.

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Natural Hair Dye

This is my blog about being kind, kind to myself, kind to the planet and kind to others. Life is a journey and I am working on becoming a better person.

At my age, my roots become grey or white every few weeks. I am still at the salt and pepper stage and I do not believe that my hair colour would be flattering if left to it's own devices. This means that every month I dye my hair. I am uncomfortable using chemicals in my hair so I switched to Mehandi.com there are a variety of kits for dyeing hair of all types and colours using ground up plant leaves. The company has expanded it's range and now includes products for African hair.

I originally just used henna on my hair but I found that my hair became darker each time I dyed it. The problem with henna is that once it is on your hair it seems to be impossible to lighten it. If you bleach it, the colour turns orange! I learned to just dye my roots so that the colour does not darken, henna does not fade.

The wonderful thing about natural hair dye is that it makes your hair thick and shiny which is a definite plus. I had been dyeing my hair a vibrant red which gave me red highlights through my grey section but I have switched to a dark blonde mix and I am trying to decide which I prefer. The great thing about hair kits from Mehandi.com is that if you are only dyeing your roots monthly, the kits last for months.

I prepare the dye the day before use because it needs to sit for 6-8 hours. I use a brush to put the dye on my roots. I leave the dye on all night and sleep in a plastic shower cap and head scarf, very glamorous! I then take two baths in the morning to wash the dye out, it is a bit like mud in the hair and very mucky. I then use a conventional conditioner to detangle the hair.

My hair feels soft, shiny and strong!

Dream Meaning - Dreaming about a House

What does my dream mean?

This is my dream interpretation blog where I write about dream meanings often based on the requests of those around me.  Here is my dream interpretation blog, where I explore dream meanings.

Dreaming about houses is very common, we often dream about homes that we used to live in, homes that we would like to live in and homes that just appear randomly in our dreams.

A house in a dream is a foundation, a residence it is our vision of who we are. It is the bricks and mortar of our perception of ourselves.

Old Home Dream-dreaming of a home that you once lived in, if it was a positive dream is a sign that you want to go back to being the person you were at that time in your life, perhaps you wish to recreate the happiness and self worth you had at that time. If your dreams of a former home are negative and you are unhappy to be there, it is a warning that you need to change your behaviour so that you do not recreate old negative patterns.

Present Home Dream -If you dream about your present house and it is a positive dream, you are happy with yourself and the way you present yourself to the world. If you dream about your current home and it is negative then you need to change certain things about your behaviour to make yourself a better person.

Old House Dream -To dream of an old house may mean that you are feeling very traditional in your responses to life's challenges or that you are letting your older relatives and friends influence the way that you look at yourself.

New House Dream -To dream of a new house would mean that you are reinventing yourself perhaps through education, being in a new environment or in a new relationship.

Dirty House Dream - To dream that you live in a dirty house is a sign that you are doing something in your life that is making you feel bad. You need to change your behaviour and present a cleaner image to yourself and the world.

Clean House Dream - If the house is excessively clean it may be a sign that you are so worried about how you look to others that you are no longer able to relax and enjoy life.

A derelict house dream - this is a sign that you need to get some help, possibly professional help to deal with your problems. You definitely have to do some work and make many changes in your life so that you will feel happier and more satisfied with yourself and feel that you are a useful member of society. You may be lacking in confidence and need to make changes in order to feel better. You may have health issues that are interfering with your sense of worth.

Haunted House Dream - To dream of a haunted house may mean that you are letting the ghosts of your past interfere with your present happiness. Some experiences need to be left in the past so that you can build a brighter future for yourself.

House full of strangers dream - This is a sign that you are making changes to your personality and you may not even recognize aspects of yourself. It may show that you are developing new talents and skills that you were previously unaware of.

House on Fire Dream - To dream of a house fire may mean that you are tearing down everything that you previously were, it could be in a constructive way making a fresh start or it could mean that you are throwing away all of your dreams aspirations and education and you need to stop your current behaviour and repair the damage. If the home was not yours, then you are witnesses the meltdown of someone close to you and you should intervene to prevent them from destroying themselves.

Flooded House Dream - This dream shows that you are under pressure, you have too much debt -the feeling of being under water, or too many responsibilities. This dream is a warning that you must take immediate action to prevent further damage, you may need to ask someone for help depending on the severity of the flood. You may need to quit your job, quit gambling, quit the behavior that is creating the problem in your life. If there is a current running through the home, you need to resist the temptation to go with the flow and hold on to what you already have.

House in a Tornado Dream - Dreaming of a house being destroyed by a tornado or excessive winds is a sign that you are being negatively effected by external forces beyond your control. A tornado is often described as the finger of God, there is no escape from what will happen. The best thing you can do in these circumstances is to hold on to who you are despite what is happening in your environment, usually wind events are short lived and if you take shelter you can survive. Do not get swept up in the excitement of the hour hold tight and be true to yourself. This dream can also refer to whirlwind romances -the same is true be yourself and do not get swept away.

To Dream of an apartment or flat - If you do not live in an apartment or flat, this dream will show that you are conforming to the norms of a group. You are one in a pile of many, you are not feeling that special or different. If the flat was vibrant then you are able to stand out from the crowd. If yours was the worst flat then you need to do better and work on some aspects of yourself to make yourself more attractive and accomplished.

To dream of a semi detached house - This is a sing that you are in a long term stable relationship with someone else who you rely upon. If they were not around would you fall down? You need to be committed to the relationship but do not sacrifice your own needs for someone else.

To dream of a terraced(row) house - You are feeling part of the group but you may not be allowing yourself to be an individual and making the most of your unique talents. Sometimes we want to fit in with others and to be a part of something that is bigger than we are but we must still retain the ability to be different and unique.

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Hand Wash Dishes

This is my blog about my journey to become a kind woman, kind to myself, kind to the planet and kind to others.

I always loved the dishwasher, my kids were young and I was cooking every day, it was my favourite appliance, it saved me so much time and the dishes came out really clean. I am now older and my appliance is older too, the dishes do not always shine and I only need to turn it on about every three days. I live in Florida and last year I noticed that cockroaches were regularly getting in my dishwasher to feed. Gross!

I started to rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, then I realised that if I was going to do all this work and have to load and unload the machine, why shouldn't I just hand wash the dishes? My problem with washing dishes by hand is that it takes a little longer, I still have to dry them and it takes several minutes for the water to get warm, so I waste a lot of water waiting for it to get hot. I could off course use the kettle.

If I hand wash, I am saving electricity so that is good for the planet although I am not sure which type of dish soap is safest if either of them are, and then there is the packaging, most dish washing soap comes in plastic bottles....I will have to do some more research. The thought of removing a source of food for roaches is good so perhaps they will be less of a pest this year. The kindness experiment continues...

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Being Kind When Challenged

My new year resolution was to be kind this year, kind to myself, kind to the planet and kind to others, this is my blog about my journey to become a kind woman.

However kind we think we are, sometimes we will be challenged by the perceptions of others. This happened to me yesterday at work, I cannot go into exact details, but I had been working with a client and I thought that I was giving them excellent service, I was in fact going a few extra yards to help them. Unfortunately some people who were not in possession of the full facts about a situation jumped to a conclusion and dropped my name in the dirt and trampled on me.

At this point I had a choice, I could go into that persons office and explain myself, send off an indignant email or do nothing. What should a kind woman do? Kind does not mean being defenceless but it does mean being smart and thinking of what you will achieve by your actions and how those actions will make you and others feel. This blog is about being kind to yourself and others and the answer to this question no doubt will vary by personality.

I gave this some thought yesterday, if I ran into the office to defend myself, I could look aggressive and threatening and then perhaps a situation would be escalated. I could send out the angry, indignant email that would initially make me feel good, "take that...." but it would make the other person feel bad and would enable me to score points. Why do I want to score points and show the other person up as being ill informed? I realised that I don't need to score points, I know the truth and I did the right thing, I stand by my actions and I feel good!

This is another win for the kind woman but it was a challenge! My advice is to follow your gut feelings, do not go for the immediate rush of winning a battle, in the end kindness and truth will prevail.

Fun Art Projects - Abstract Painting

This is my blog about my fun art projects, the focus is on fun not art! It would be nice if some art happened.

Like many people, I gaze at abstract art and think, I could do that! It looks so simple, colours on a page, no-one can say if it's right or wrong because no-one knows what was intended, except the artist. After my recent foray into the local art shops I was inspired to take out my acrylic paints and have a go.

The first thing I realised was that you have to have some idea in your head, I think, I did not seem to be able to randomly start painting. I picked some colours that I like, mixing purple and turquoise, I wanted peacock but ended up with baby peacock as I had run out of black paint.

Subject, I love trees and nature and I felt that abstract art is better when it looks a little bit like something so I founds some twigs and decided to use those in my art. I painted the background and smeared the edges with a sponge. I was just going to  paint the twig and print it onto the canvas but that didn't work out, it was really scratchy so I painted the twig and this kind of spoiled the whole abstract thing, I then used some leaf prints to give the whole thing a measles effect. I think I need to go back to the drawing board, literally. I like my baby peacock colours though.

The sun shone brightly in a purple sky, while the leaves from the oak spilled softly like measles on the turquoise grass...

Fun Art Project - Eco Speakers

This is my blog about my fun art projects, the focus is on fun not art!

When I was strolling around the local stores on Sunday, I saw some eco cell phone speakers made out of bamboo. They looked simple enough, a slice of bamboo cane with a hole in the top and painted. I have so much bamboo in my garden that I thought I would give it a go. I chose the widest piece of bamboo that I could find and cut a slice. The first thing I learned is that bamboo is not hollow at the knots so I had to cut off another section.

Step two was to cut a hole the size of my cell phone, I did a rough pencil mark and set to making holes in the bamboo and then cutting it with scissors. It took me at least 6 attempts to get the right width and length and the hole looked messy.

Step three- I realised that the cell phone was too heavy and would not stand up in the speaker. I did a quick google and found out that the bamboo needs to be sanded flat to make it stable. Fortunately, I had some sand paper in the garage so I diligently sanded away. I started work in the garage and then sat in the garden which was much more fun.

I sanded until my fingers were burning and the paper was hot, but it made little impression on the bamboo. I would need an electric sander to make this work. I am averse to making purchases for one off projects so I decided to sand the hole I had cut into the speaker and give it a lick of paint.

I used some left over paint from another project to paint the speaker and hung it to dry with a clothes peg. The good news is that the speaker works! The sound from my cell phone is amplified by the speaker. The bad news is that it will not stand up so I have to rest it against something.

What I learned: to make a proper bamboo speaker, you need a really big fat piece of bamboo that can be sanded with an electric sander to get a flat bottom that will stand the weight of your phone. Small speakers still work.

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog -Healthy Food

This is my blog about being kind to the planet, to myself and to others.

On Sunday I went back to the farmer's market in "Vultureville" and this time purchased a juicy looking lettuce and some homemade blueberry acai granola from Lifestyle Treats. I am looking forward to the granola and less excited about lettuce. I then walked over to We're Nuts who have just opened a new location, I had already purchased my nuts for the week so I bought a fresh loaf of french bread.

Vultureville is constantly evolving and a new cafe, recently opened in an older store, the store, "Every Nook and Cranny" has a fresh creative vibe. The cafe offers gluten free and vegan snacks and locally roasted coffee, I enjoyed a delicious almond milk chai with local artist Andrea Lauren. Unfortunately this building was sold and the cafe is now closed.

Back at home with my stomach growling I scanned the internet for a recipe to use my sagging broccoli and spinach left over from last week. I am still training myself to be excited by green veggies! I found a great recipe from "The Flexitarian", Warming Broccoli and Spinach Soup, surprisingly, I had all of the ingredients and proceeded to make soup. The soup came out bright green with added texture of garbanzo beans, it was delicious with the fresh french bread spread with Earth Balance Spread

This week I will attempt to eat healthy foods all week, the holiday chocolates have been consumed and I have avoided the candy aisle at the store. If I am desperate for a treat I have some candied ginger, so let's see how it goes....

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Gardening for birds and squirrels

We are almost half was through January and I have not seriously attempted to garden yet. If the temperature is below 60 degrees F I am unlikely to do so. Despite this, I like to feed the birds especially when the weather is cool. I have feeders in the front and back gardens with wild bird seed and black sunflower seed. I have been doing battle with the squirrels who even with a squirrel baffle have gymnastically managed to vault over the baffle to get to the sunflower seed.

There is a squirrels' dray in the tree in the back garden so I am inundated with small squirrels chasing each other from branch to branch. I allow them access to the wild bird seed feeder. Last weekend I decided to be kind and buy a squirrel cake, it cost me about $6 but I thought it would last for about 2 weeks. After only 4 days, I came home to find that the cake holder was on the ground and the cake had been pulled apart, the squirrels had finished everything in less than a week. My kind squirrel budget will not be replenished for weeks!

The art of kind gardening is an evolving process around my home. I want to encourage birds, butterflies and bees and not harm the ground water by using any chemicals. I am happy with my front garden that has a mixture of bamboo clumps surrounded by mulch. This is a low maintenance garden, no mowing, no nasty chemicals and no wasted water. The back garden still has a green area, I am not going to call it a lawn as it is an area of weeds or wild plants that is occasionally mown. I am not happy with this a mowing is not a natural activity and who wants to waste time with that!

I do no want to mulch the back garden because it prevents the wildflowers from growing and these are needed by our pollinators the butterflies and bees. I have tired growing vegetables but so far have managed to harvest one red pepper! I am thinking of letting the green area grow and perhaps adding a mulch pathway or stepping stones so that I can still access all areas of the garden if it gets too wild.

My current plan for kind gardening is to feed the birds, placate the squirrels, let the wildflowers grow and keep the garden natural but accessible.

Dream Meaning - Dreaming of Riding a Bike, Bicycle, Tricycle or Unicycle!

What does my dream mean?

This is my dream interpretation blog where I describe a dream and then interpret it. Here is my dream interpretation blog, where I explore dream meanings. This week my dreamer is a riding a bike...

In this dream the dreamer is riding a bike with a group of other riders, but he is conscious that he does not know where they are going. He keeps asking for directions but no-one helps him. He gets separated from the pack and ends up riding through peoples yards, eventually he is on a road but he cannot turn off because there are deep ditches on either side. The road ends and he comes off the road and lands at a wall covered in grass, he then falls into the ditch.

Dream meaning - riding a bike in a dream can be a positive and pleasurable experience. You may be riding for pleasure and this shows that you are moving through life smoothly, there is balance and you are on the right track.

To dream of falling off a bike or struggling to stay on a bike means that there is no balance in your life, you will need to make changes or learn new skills to restore equilibrium.

To dream of riding a bike while everyone else is passing you in a car, may mean that you are feeling left behind and others have an easier path to get to their destination. If you were riding a bike and everyone else is walking then you are getting to the destination quicker and progressing on your journey. It depends on whether the journey was pleasurable or not.

To dream of riding a broken or damaged bike or bicycle means that you need to do some maintenance or repairs in your life if you wish to continue on your journey. You may need to rethink your life goals and make a fresh start.

To dream of riding a tricycle, would have similar meanings to those above except you are showing an aversion to risk, you feel secure in being different.

To dream of riding a unicycle -if you are able to balance in your dream, would show that you are able to manage with less than everyone else and that you are more skilled and able to cope with a situation. Dreaming of falling off a unicycle would mean that you need to learn more skills to cope with your current situation, you may not be ready for what life has in store for you.

In today's dream the dreamer started his journey with other people, he was part of the crowd. He starts to feel that the others around him are not helping him and he becomes lost. In his life he has been separated from others with similar interests, because he was unable to communicate with them effectively and he started on his journey or life path without a plan in mind. He becomes lost and does not know how to get his life back on track so he starts encroaching into other people's lives by trespassing on their property even though he did not intend to do this. He thinks that he has found the path back but then it ends and he realises that his life is still off track. He was too scared to turn off his current path because of all the ditches around him. His fear of falling into a rut keeps him on a path that is leading nowhere. When he falls off the path onto a wall covered in grass it does not seem so bad but then he falls into the ditch anyway. The ditch represents being in a rut in life and unable to get out of a groove. This is a warning dream that it is a good idea to have a definite plan or destination in mind when setting off on a journey in life. Without a plan we get lost and the things that we fear, such a getting caught in a rut are more likely to happen when we did not have a goal in mind.

Dream Meaning - Roommate, Furniture, Musicians

What does my dream mean?

This is my dream interpretation blog, where I describe a dream and then interpret it. Here is my dream interpretation blog, where I explore dream meanings.

In this dream, the dreamer finds herself living with the pop group "Police". She has just moved in and it is a very modest place, what she notices most of all is that none of the furniture matches, she brings along her own furniture that does not match either. In the dream she is discussing which pieces of furniture they should keep.

Dreaming of furniture is usually a positive omen, we purchase furniture if we are settling down, or making a nest in a relationship. Dreaming of old furniture can mean that you are bringing baggage to a relationship, unless it was beautiful old furniture, antique furniture, which is bringing positive experience into a situation. Dreaming of dirty or dusty furniture is a sign that you are neglecting your home life and need to spend more time working on you relationships. Brightly coloured furniture can symbolise happy times ahead. Broken furniture means problems in your home life. Repairing furniture shows that you are willing to work on your home situation.

Dreaming of a roommate can mean that you will have companionship but this depends on the nature of the roommate. A roommate may also be a warning that there are conflicts ahead close to home. Roommates in a dream can also mean that you will need financial support in the future. Dreaming of a roommate whose furniture does not match your own is a sign that you will have to make compromises in a living situation and possibly give up some things, or habits in order to make the situation work.

Dreaming of musicians, musicians are supposed to entertain us, so dreaming of musicians could show that there are pleasurable times ahead. If they are playing music and you liked it, that is a positive symbol. If the music was unpleasant, you will be in an environment where people do not have the same taste as you do and you will need to move on or make changes. Musicians can symbolise harmony if they were getting along. If the musicians were fighting it is a sign that you will have unexpected difficulties.

In today's dream the dreamer is setting up a new home but she has to share that home with others. She should have been excited but she was surprised to find that even successful musicians can have ugly furniture. This is telling her that however rich and successful you are the problems at home are still the same. You still have to work on relationships. Musicians should be a symbol of harmony but a group of musicians do not always agree and often they try to put things together that do not work. This could be in a professional way or because the dream happened at home, this is a symbol of dis-chord away from the stage.

The dreamer brings along her own furniture which represents her baggage and realises that she must make changes in order for her things to blend with her new roommates. This is a sign that if she is to start a new relationship, possibly with a family, she will have to compromise and let go of some things from her past, should they move in together.

Dream Meaning - Dreaming about Fire

What does my dream mean?

This is my dream interpretation blog where I describe a dream and then interpret it. Here is the index to my dream interpretation blog, where I explore dream meanings.

In this dream the dreamer has lit a fire in the fireplace and she is going to enjoy sitting with her daughter and watching the fire but the fire escapes and starts to spread throughout the house. She asks her daughter to call for the fire brigade but then the fire goes out on its own.

Fire in a dream can have many meanings, in a relationship it can mean passion or anger depending on the other circumstances of the dream. It can also symbolise a clearing away of old mistakes and energies to get a fresh start because fire consumes and then the earth is renewed.

In this dream, the dreamer deliberately set the fire and thought it would be a nice family time but the fire was out of control so she panicked and asked her daughter to get help. In fact the fire burned out and help was not needed. This shows that the dreamer is trying to control the life of her daughter, possibly the things that she is passionate about. When things do not go to plan she panics and tells her daughter what to do, but she should have more faith in her daughter because the fire goes out.

Reflection

Take time to reflect on the symbols in your dreams....

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Grocery Shopping

An important part of living kindly is to be kind to the environment. I noticed over the past several months that many of the vegetables that I have been consuming have been heavily packaged, sometimes on trays, in net bags and in plastic, all of this is unnecessary waste, so I stopped shopping at Aldi my favourite store and attempted to shop local. I found a wider array of fruit and vegetables which although not organic were at least free from packaging. I attempted to purchase other things like cereal, nuts and dried fruit in this store but noticed that it was expensive and in large quantities.

I went to Target to look for similar items only to realise that the items in Target were in slick packaging but only a fraction of the size so my local store was in fact better value. I came home and did some research on cutting down on waste. Here are 2 interesting articles: 5 Types of Food Packaging  and Zero Waste Living. Reading these article I learned that it is difficult to recycle packaging that is made of more than one material, which leaves me frustrated because I do not like to buy juice in plastic bottles even though they are recyclable, cartons looked like a better option but are probably less easy to recycle- plastic lined, my favourite container is glass but it is so hard to find any juice in glass bottles that costs less than $6.00.

The Zero waste living article made me realise that I need to buy in bulk to cut down on packaging and also that I should visit my local Farmer's Market. I went to the market today and discovered fresh veggies, fresh bread, organic meats and lots of goats cheese. I plan to go back there next week before I have completed my weekly shop.

On another note, as I lay stretching on my yoga mat this morning, I saw a large vulture soar overhead, I am pretty sure that he was checking me out.....

Dream Meaning - Out of Breath, Missing the luggage bus and Lost Items

What does my dream mean?

This is my dream interpretation blog where I describe a dream and then interpret it. Here is the index to my dream interpretation blog, where I explore dream meanings.

In this dream the dreamer climbs on an airport tug with the luggage, notices that her daughter was running but missed the "bus", she tries not to worry. She dismounts from the luggage carrier and notices lots of valuables in amongst the stones on the ground. She thinks that she sees something belonging to her daughter but then it is gone. She starts to feel really out of breath.

Luggage represents the things that we carry around with us in life, it can be physical goods, it can be knowledge, memories or it can be emotional baggage. Losing luggage can be a positive thing if you were excited about losing it in the dream. Luggage can also represent security, the basic things that you need to be yourself. Finding your luggage is usually a good omen unless the luggage is ugly and then it is a reminder that not everything that we have experienced is positive.

Missing a bus or transportation can mean that we missed an opportunity to move on in life. Buses take us to new places but they are not usually very luxurious, they are often basic, so the conditions of the transportation will tell you how well you will be living. The good thing about buses are that they come around regularly so if we miss one and we wait long enough another one will turn up. This is the same with opportunities missing one opportunity does not mean that there will not be others.

Feeling out of breath can be a warning that you are taking on too much and your body is in need of oxygen or even a change to make you feel better.

Lost items in a dream, seeing many lost items scattered around is a sign that people have been careless with their valuables. The meaning will depend on the situation or the cause of the items being lost. At an airport it may mean that the carrier did not take care of the passengers. Losing an item of value in a dream, the meaning will depend on how the dreamer reacted to the loss and the item itself.

This is an anxiety dream, the dreamer is worried about her daughter going to the airport. She is worried that her daughter will not travel with the luggage. Most people don't want to travel on the luggage cart but they do want to arrive with their luggage so this is a fear of losing luggage. The dreamer also sees valuables scattered around and she is looking for her daughters things. She is worried that the luggage will not get safely to the destination. She does not find the valuables. In a less literal way, missing the bus means that she sees her daughter missing opportunities in life, although another bus usually comes along, but she and her daughter are not on the same bus which is upsetting. She sees her daughter's valuables, which could be money or skills and talents scattered around in a way that they cannot be found again, she may feel that her daughters talents are being wasted. However it is possible that her daughter will arrive later and find her valuables and perhaps it was not the job of the mother to find them. Being out of breath in the dream is a sign of stress, the mother cannot deal with the amount of pressure that she is placing on herself. She needs to step back and stop worrying.

Dream Meaning - Dreaming about Mud

What does my dream mean?

This is my dream interpretation blog where I describe a dream and then interpret it. Here is the index to my dream interpretation blog, where I explore dream meanings.

In this dream, the person finds herself walking along a muddy road barefoot. The dreamer feels happy and is not hindered by the mud.

Walking in mud dreams vary greatly in interpretation because it is the manner of walking and the dreamers feelings about the mud that create meaning. Walking in thick sticky mud and not being able to make progress is a negative dream because the dirt is preventing the dreamer from making progress in life. There may be relationships or situations that are causing a negative situation and the dreamer has lost confidence in their ability to move on.

Dry mud where progress is easy shows that the problems have been overcome and the dreamer is quite capable of moving through the situation unaided.

In today's dream the dreamer was barefoot and happy in the mud, it is likely that they were feeling good about being in tune and connected to the earth. The earth connection enabled them to move through life with ease.

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Wear your Bosses Shoes!

My third day back at work served as a reminder that there are times when I get angry and frustrated in the office. I received a message from "on high" that I felt was criticised some of my methods and immediately I started to get palpitations, I felt shaky and had to fight the urge to send a rude response. Remembering that I am working on becoming a kinder person this year, I spent a few minutes and put myself in my bosses shoes. Most people in authority are answering to someone else and are merely passing down thoughts and perceptions. It is better to be grateful to your boss for putting you in the picture and letting you know how your performance is being perceived than to be upset with them for communicating with you. Armed with this information I was able to work with my boss to resolve a situation with team spirit rather than choosing a war of words!

I also resisted the temptation to moan about the situation with my co-workers as this gives a problem energy and creates bad feelings for everyone. This was progress in my quest to be kinder this year and surprisingly it felt good!

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Work Overload -Finding Quality Street

Yesterday, I returned to work after a break, I took a deep breath and logged into my computer promising myself that I would not get too stressed out by whatever tasks were awaiting me. There were 76 emails, 256 phone calls to make, a couple of reports to do, only one phone message and a pile of minor administrative tasks, this amounts to about 4 days work to complete all due in one day! I had decided to be kind to myself this year and take my two daily breaks walking around the building because desk life is too sedentary and bad for my health but yesterday was a fail. I made an excuse, it was too cold outside and the 3 flights of stairs to my office were exhausting to climb even first thing in the morning. I resolve to do better today.

When faced with way too much work to do, I usually get stressed out, crabby, feel palpitations in my chest and just rush at everything like a crazy woman obsessed with finishing everything in the one day, no matter what the quality of the work. Yesterday, I prioritised, realised that everything would not be done and slowly chipped away at the mountain. For once I was happy that my employer measures performance with metrics because I knew that I would meet my daily metrics even if I only completed 25% of the work. I realised that being kind involves doing quality work, it is better to do a task well and have positive interactions with others than to do many tasks poorly.

In the afternoon, I decided to visit some of my co-workers to hand out some "Quality Street" sweets that I had purchased in London. I was rewarded by getting some good advice on how to handle a personal issue from Deb, a charming lady in my department. I hope to write about the issue in the future, but I will say that Deb has definitely earned the title of "Kind Woman".

In my employment I am also required to work with people from other departments and I was rather perplexed to be asked to help someone in marketing yesterday. I felt that this was not a good day for me to give up time to help someone else, but in my new role as a kind woman I did what was required. The task did not take that long and it paid off, I made someone else happy and prevented them from having nothing to do, I did not have to deal with guilty feelings about being mean and I know that I did the right thing for the business.

Today, I am back to work with about 2 1/2 days of tasks to complete, I didn't reach the summit of the mountain yesterday but the view is okay from where I stand. The two brisk walks around the building await me today along with lots of potentially interesting phone conversations where I help others. Being kind does not come naturally to me but I can see the rewards when I succeed.

The Year of Living Kindly -Kind Woman Blog - Turn off the TV at night

I am still new at being "kind", this sounds like an excuse and my second act was to stop watching TV in the bedroom. This is another kind act that should benefit my health - I read about how damaging blue light is to health and TV's emit a lot of blue light.

I have had the TV on all night for months now because if the house is silent in the night, I start hearing noises and get up regularly to investigate, this is not good for my nerves or my sleep. When I have the TV on at night I am distracted but the end result is that I have Netflix running and the ability to rewind shows. Some nights I will replay shows up to seven times to catch the parts that I missed when I finally fell asleep so with or without blue lights this is not giving me a good rest.

I decided to replace the TV with radio because that does not give off a light, I found NPR on my daughters old boombox because it is not full of annoying adverts and I do not want to be subliminally programmed to purchase things that I do not need. NPR at night sounded so boring that I just could not leave it on. I then switched to my cell phone UK radio and listened to LBC which is much more up my street.  The problem is that the cell phone is using WiFi which I intend to switch off at night as I have heard it is bad.

Last night was then a partial success, no TV but still WiFi in the bedroom. I slept pretty well until 4 am, I still have jet lag from my recent trip to England. I will try again tonight, in reality I should listen to Spanish radio in the night because I might at least subliminally learn a language!

A Year of Living Kindly - The Kind Woman Blog - Introduction

I haven't always been kind, I have been selfish, self centred and ignored facts that were uncomfortable or inconvenient, this year I want to change all of that. I describe myself as a work in progress, I know that I will not always do the right thing but this year will be an adventure to see which things I can get right. When I talk about being kind, it means a multitude of things, being kind to the planet, taking care of the environment, being kind to animals, being kind and understanding of others, being kind to myself, taking care of my mind and body so that I can be a better happier person.

I made a list of things that I should do to be healthier, happier, more creative and more responsible to future generations who will inherit this planet. Today was a tidy up, preparation day, where I cleaned the house, decluttered some rooms, made a pile of things to give to charity and tidied up the garage.

I decided to make a craft room in the garage, I like painting and dyeing clothes and I keep all of my materials out in the garage. The problem with this is that I rarely venture into the garage because it is cold in winter and too hot in summer, there are also cobwebs and dust. So what does cleaning the garage have to do with being kind? If I can access all of my forgotten art materials perhaps I will be moved to be more creative and dye some old clothes, make some cushion covers or up-cycle some household knick-knacks. This I would classify as being kind to my creative soul.

Step one was to make a pile of stuff for goodwill, a pile of trash and a pile of stuff to keep and organise. I unrolled an old rug, organised some shelves, cleaned off an old desk and made some make shift curtains for one of the windows. To make cheap curtains, I used some old fabric and purchased some shower hooks with clips to attach to the fabric. I then went into the garden and cut a piece of bamboo to use as a curtain rod. There were several nails above the windows so I placed the pole above this and now I have curtains in my garage and it is a lot more cosy and user friendly.

The next step is to actually go into the garage and do some crafting - I might also paint the walls as that is not my favourite shade of green!

I started writing this blog in 2018 since that time, I have moved to England where I continue to seek out ways of protecting the planet. It is now 2020 and we are in lockdown for COVID 19. I am starting to feel a shift in people and more interest in kindness and helping others. I hope to add some new products and ideas to this blog in the future.

Thanks for reading -be kind!
