Love a book!

Reading has always been a passion of mine, mainly novels, I started reading Enid Blyton when I was a child, graduating to English literature at school Shakespeare, Chaucer and James Joyce, and now to much lighter stuff like Jodi Picoult. Reading fiction is an escape into a fantasy world where you can experience other peoples problems and lives.

I like to read serious factual information too and have become an internet junkie where I can find answers quickly, I love to Google!

How can I help you?

Do you need someone to read to you?

Sometimes you want someone to read to you.

Sometimes you cannot read.

Sometimes you want someone to read to your child?  

I love to read and I am blessed with an interesting accent. I grew up in the West of England and would be described as a wurzel, but I have refined my voice and with 17 years of living in the United States I have an Amercanized English accent. I would call myself an anglo american wurzel but I can't think of a good abbreviation for that.

Let me write a rhyme for you

I wish that I could speak in rhyme 

and say the right thing all the time.

No longer make a verbal mess

by using words in ways careless.

When I open my mouth everyone will know

because they hear my words just flow

like a river, swelling after rain,

down the hill and over the plain.

Or a deep sea, a still lake, a verbal description

using words as a watery depiction.

Sometimes short like a syllable, 

drips, not exciting or thrillable.

Drop like a drip from the tap

stop, wait, oh, crap!

Frozen sludgy slow, 

Like slowly melting snow

Words from the tired and intoxicated.

making sounds that are unrelated

Sense or nonsense but still in rhyme

flowing endlessly in time.

 

Let Me Write Some Words for You!

I can write some words for you,

A rhyme a couplet or a verse or two

Want to see what I can do

Stop and read a page or two

of our animal alphabet book

I can write you a rhyme to send to your date

Animal Band

Thank you teacher! My wish for this school year.

Schools are starting up again, new classes, new teachers, a new environment, a new year of opportunity. A chance to shine; a chance to find out who you really are; discover your strengths and weaknesses and to prepare for your future. This is a new journey and your teacher is your guide; full of new ideas, exciting assignments; ready to help you on the path to success. Your teacher is there to help you; communicate with you and show you how to be better, so listen and learn!

A teacher is not always going to be happy with you; you must obey; you must understand that they know more than you do; they are educated and hard working and dedicated to making a difference. Despite poor pay, (they could earn much more money working somewhere else) they devote themselves to making sure that tomorrow the country is full of talented educated people; who make good decisions. People like you, successful because a teacher spent the time with you to make sure that you learned something. A teacher who motivated you to go home and study; someone who encouraged you to practice your skills.

This is a new year; a time to reinvent yourself to make a difference in your life; time to do it, time to appreciate those who are helping you.

So listen to your teachers; learn from your teachers and then thank your teachers!  They deserve it!

Stress!

What's wrong?

Stress!

Hands shaking, wobbly on my feet,

Feeling unsure of the people I meet

Everyone's a stranger, never a friend

standing alone, trying to blend.

Stomach tied in knots, unable to sleep

is that the wind or do the stairs creek?

Miserable at work, counting the minutes

tired, depressed, bored,

is there no limit?

Money is short,

Bills are high,

How on earth will I get by?

 

Far away from family,

detached from all around,

living all alone and feeling down.

 isolated, separated, too depressed.

Stress! 

How the hell did I get into this mess!

Is this cute?

Well, my hanging basket is now officially dead, all plants are dried and crispy but this little darling is alive and well! Just hanging out in the basket for his Mom to bring him a tasty bug to eat!

My Excuse for not watering my plants!

Every year I make myself a nice couple of hanging baskets; sometimes they look great and sometimes they wither but I usually after a few mishaps manage to find some drought resistant plants that can cope with my neglect.

This year nature gave me the perfect excuse not to water one of my hanging baskets - a Carolina Wren's nest! I have a courtyard at the back of the condo and apart from the Wren's it is really too small to attract birds. One day I saw the Wren's putting nesting material into my hanging basket. I opened my bird book and it said that they may build up to 20 decoy nests so I didn't really worry about it.

Last week, the plants were looking dead so I decided to water them, all of a sudden a very angry wren flew out of the nest and perched on the wall, scolding me most profusely.  Since then I have not watered that basket and today, I took a photo of the what I thought was the wren sitting in her nest with her little head popped up, you can just see her beak and her eyes! I am now looking more closely and I think it is two baby wrens!

my fingers awake and they want you so much.
an ember that glows; and flickers within;
the passion, the feeling, the light never dim.

Radiant beauty; surround me each day;
embrace me; protect me and help me to play,
up in the clouds, or here on the ground,
the soft silent sighing of peace all around.

I hope you like my words, I recently helped my daughter Claire Courchene with some song lyrics and she was pretty pleased with them.  Yesterday she went to the studio withe her business partner Ethan;  a singer and some other musicians and recorded the song - Stereographic Entertainment produced the song.  I was feeling really confident today so I spent some time writing this.

Power of the cell phone tower?

I have been commenting on my new place, where the ceiling fan and light turns itself on and off, doors close and can't be reopened and people with bad energy are sent packing!
Every time I think of something I need it just appears and the only explanation that I can think of is the power of the cell phone tower.
Has anyone else experienced this?
