Demented Scarecrow, Ballet Dancer Spirit, Mullet and Cardboard Spectacles...
Goals for the day -1. Get up early - is 8.30 am early for a Saturday? Not really.
2. Exercise - I made some progress here, I practiced my bellydance in front of the camcorder. Result.....well it took an hour but probably 20 minutes of it was reviewing my progress and that led me on to something else that was not really my goal for the day...
Reviewing my footage, I looked like a demented scarecrow flapping my arms about. My hair looks like straw, over processed by bleach and sun. If you must stand in front of a camera, be prepared to suck it up, I looked awful, I am my worst critic. Step one - try not to look so demented: I imagined that I had been possessed by the spirit of a ballet dancer, slow and graceful, head held high, taking everything in her stride. (for all my psychic friends - I couldn't find the spirit of a stray ballet dancer floating around in Cape Canaveral - maybe a rocket scientist but he wouldn't be much better at bellydancing than me). Anyway, the ballet dancer helped me a little, slowed me down and gave me some poise, but it was still me dancing will all my flaws. Need to work on it.
Step Two - deal with the scarecrow look - I had been semi looking for a hairdresser for the last few weeks, last night I found a place in Cape Canaveral called "Bombay Salon" which is on Mullet Street. I know Bombay women have beautiful, long dark locks - not like mine and Mullet street brought back too many memories from the 70's and 80's. Of Course I associate Bombay with great Indian cusine and Delhi Belly - not a good combination!
My mullet from the 80's.
My daughters will not forgive me if I get another mullet even though I think it is a very practical hair cut! They used to take photos of people with mullets back in the 90's...
Anyway, I headed over to the Mall where I had met a hairdresser called Renea some months back, I hesitantly asked for a trim at the salon where she works and then waited to see if they could fit me in - Renea appeared out of the back - she was available immediately so fate was on my side. Renea was looking happy and sporting some fresh tatoos, all good energy. My hair now shines and looks much better - thank you!
Now I am back home, trying to manifest a good man to repair my refirgerator...be careful what you wish for..
While I work on that, it takes a lot of visualizing - I will tell you about my dream last night.
I was in a school, waiting outside the classrooms with a bunch of nerdy boys, I got the feeling that I was going to science class, my least favorite class. Somehow my glasses got broken - not the glass just the things that go over your ears. I had some long thin oblong cardboard boxes that I was trying to use to replace the ear things, they were too long and I was wondering how they would fit over my ears. Then I found the screws and was putting them in to hold the ear things in place. I was amazed at how well I could see the small screws and manipulate them without my glasses. The boys kept telling me that I would be late for class if I didn't hurry up but I really wanted to fix my glasses first.
The Meaning of this Dream:
First of all I am in school - which is not unusual for me - I often dream about school and I love to learn. I think it means that I am in a learning phase, the fact that it is science may mean that I am in the process of learning something that does not really interest me. I am a misfit with the nerdy boys. Then my glasses are damaged but I can still see, I seem to be so preoccupied with getting my vision straight even though the repair is not good and I don't care that I am missing the learning experience.
So is this dream telling me that I am doing too much unnecessary preparation? Or that I am on the wrong path for me and I am making excuses about why I am not moving forward. I really could see - despite my glasses being damaged. Need to give this some thought - what scientific nerdy thing am I doing in my life that doesn't really fit me?
Anyone who has any thoughts on this please let me know!
