Finally it's the weekend, time to reflect and plan for the next week of living kindly. I would like to say that I do not really live in Vultureville, this is the name given to the city by my daughter on account of the large number of vultures in the area. I had not noticed until she said....
I get up early and put on a load of laundry, tip the soap out of the plastic bottle into the washing machine. I do this in an automatic mindless way. I then notice that the floor needs a sweep and I need to clean the baseboards. I reach for the dish soap in the plastic bottle. Stop! I start to wonder if there are animal products in the soap and if I should be using products out of cardboard instead of plastic. If I am to live as a kind woman I must research this and make more careful purchases. I will post the results later.
Part of being kind is having a morning workout, I usually dance a little and do some yoga and stretching. This morning I select the wrong music and find myself lying on the floor contemplating the world outside. I notice some vultures circling over the neighbors house and I have the urge to write about it. I go into the garage and put the laundry into the tumble dryer - but wait, I should be using a clothes horse instead of the dryer to be kind to the environment. I have not purchased one yet...still more work to do.
I go back to sit on the floor and do my daily meditation, being kind to my mind and spirit, I look out of a different window and there is another kettle of vultures circling over the road. I truly live in Vultureville and am too distracted to meditate.
I turn on my computer and have to wait ages to load the pages because I turned off the Wifi to save the planet and my brain -I didn't realize that being kind was so inconvenient!
