The fool depicts a flamboyant young man who has set off on a journey. His dog barks at his side, he has his provisions for the day, the sun is shining. He may fall off a cliff but he is so happy with his journey that he does not even notice.
What does this mean?
This is a young person or a person who is young at heart, they are ready to set off on an adventure and even if things get dangerous they have the belief in themselves not to be worried about bad things that may happen. There is an innocence and naiivete with this card that is quite charming. The sun is a positive symbol that things are going well and the fool is well dressed. He has enough food and a trusty companion.
Here is my poem to help you to remember this character.
They call me the fool cos I’m taking a risk,
I’m walking along; may fall off the cliff.
My dog runs with me, he barks at my feet.
I’m feeling excited, I have what I need.
I’m on an adventure; I’m leaving my home.
I know I’ll be safe wherever I roam.
I packed what I need for my journey today.
I’m happy to leave and be on my way!
A new adventure has begun
Nothing ventured nothing won!
